Is the frame gold on the Ultra? I saw a video where the S24 or the S24+ had a gold frame.

It's silver! But at an angle it can appear a bit gold like because of the light reflecting off the orange color.

Yes, all 4 color options have lightly tinted titanium banding that subtly matches the color of the body. I'm assuming titanium anodizing doesn't take color very easily. The 2 lesser models (24 and 24+) have aluminum banding so the colors are richer and more saturated. Can see the differences in the 4 colors below...

Very intentional. I fell for the contrasting dark frame and camera rings on the blue. I'd call it sky blue or even powder blue, but it actually ranges to an almost grey to off white color. They are all different hues depending on lighting. Even the black doesn't appear to be a solid black. Maybe gunmetal? Whatever. I like them all this year.

My phone is doing a little time in UPS jail this weekend as the wonderful delivery guy did not ring the door bell yesterday. I was home & we have a door bell camera. Matter of fact, he barely tapped on the storm door to knock & instantly threw a could not deliver tag on the door. Grrrr.

Yep. Started last night just doing the Smart Switch - pulling everything off the old S20 FE, including my nearly full 128GB SD card.

Took over an hour, then started my own run-through. Had to copy over the Nova Launcher v8 beta, then the saved settings for that.

Then the wife texts me, telling me it's late and need to come to bed...

She was right. It was almost 1 am.

Back at it today. Signing in to all those apps, like Ring, my bank, the Tapatalk app so I can post this...

Yeah I spent most of the day signing in to all my apps and trying to transfer pics and video to my PC having trouble and not seeing several folders I made in my gallery of pics. SoI haven't really had time to mess with the phone or check anything out yet. I have to configure sounds and ringtones.

But I do like it and am starting to like the looks of it better over the 23 I think. My magnetic CD holder car dock comes tomorrow I hope it works well.

Even all of my extras just say order placed. I have been preordering the ultra or note for several years now and cannot remember ever being this close to release date with no movement at all.

I’ve had this issue before- I mean since my wife and I both work from home and we have 4 dogs that literally bark at any truck that remotely slows down and resembles UPS or Fed Ex- how exactly are these delivery people thinking it’s possibly saving them time and effort to sneak on the porch with a sticker? I think I caught a USPS person after I got a phone notification that a package I was actively keeping an eye out for was being held for delivery because ‘ attempted delivery’.

I ordered at 5pm on the 17th and didn’t even think of checking until I started to dig into this thread- then I check every so often, and like you- no movement. And it is supposed to be delivered on the 31st- which would mean things would have to move exceeding fast relatively speaking for it to get to me then.

I guess I have resigned myself to not getting ‘early’ on the 31st and I guess it probably will be late. I was actually cleaning up my note 20 ultra for trade in, and fell in love with he device compared to the ultra 23 which I was not trading in. Kinda would almost like to trade that in instead.

The 20 ultra was so nice and tall and thin and light comparatively speaking.

The only real glitch I can across was in some of my notification sounds and ringtones.

While everything I had carried over, it even set my custom sounds for me, some things just didn't make sounds - phones calls were silent, and my alarm didn't sound. But texts, emails and general notifications made their expected noises.

I checked out the call ringtone first. While it was set to my expected sound file, when I tapped on it, it said the format was unsupported. Which was weird considering all those same files play fine on the S20 FE running One UI 5.1/Android 13.

I looked it up and it turns out all my non-working sound files were WMA files. The format that Samsung apparently stopped supporting a couple of OS versions back. Why they work on the old S20 FE, I don't know. Maybe support carried over from the initial OS on that phone - Android 10. I never did a reset on it. All OS updates were in-place. Maybe existing support carried over? I don't know.

But I did have to copy those files off to my PC, convert them to mp3, copy them back, and reset the sounds for the various actions.

Thats fine. Its just 1 day difference. Mine is 2 weeks waiting. I was supposed to get it on the 24th but its been changed to 9th February
