When I turn on my phone, why can I only hear sounds and see no images?

I can turn on my phone but I can only hear the sounds. There's no image at all. All black.

Last few days, I decided to play with my phone but it was off. So, I turned on my phone and I still couldn't see anything. I tried to turn it on again but it is still the same until now. All I see is black image. Just like when it was off. After awhile, I realized that it was on but I heard the sound when I slide to open it as usual. But until today, I can only hear the sound. It is just that there is no image showed. How to solve my problem?

My guess cause this happened to my sister, but she didnt have a smart phone is because the backlight for your phone died out and its a simple fix if you have ensurance if not then you need a new phone.
