Samsung has said Project Treble will not be a part of their Oreo Update for the S8/S8 Plus, so I doubt it will be included in the Oreo update for the Note 8.
It is enabled on any phone that launches with Oreo, so the S9/S9 Plus will have it.

According to this. The S8/S8+ won't be Treble compliant; it doesn't say anything about the Note 8. We'll see what Samsung says about the Note 8. People keep equating the Note series as just a more powerful version of the S series. When in actuality, they are two separate beasts. Oreo was released just before the S8/S8+ was released, so therefore, Samsung wouldn't have had time to properly implement Treble. However the Note 8 was released much later and that could have given Samsung more time to implement Treble. From my understanding of Treble, it seems that Google is separating the AOSP from the actual firmware/drivers so that security patches can be sent out without actually needing updated firmware/drivers from the vendors.

Samsung won't be in any rush for an update. I'm guessing 6 to 8 months from the date the phone came out. The Oreo leaked pre-release I installed works perfectly so I'm happy for now.

I wasn't equating the Note series with the S series. Just making an assumption, which I hope is wrong for Note users.
I think it's the "mom" in me coming through, not wanting anyone to be disappointed. :)
