When is TMobile getting pie ??

So it seems TMo is pulling the S9/S9+ Pie OTA
Yes, they have suspended the update: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-37179 .

so screw it I'm going to first backup everything via SmartSwitch on my PC then use the AT&T build to update.
TMo presumably suspended the update because it has serious problems, such as the ones users have been reporting. That does not motivate me to try to install it on my own. I hope it works well for you, though.

It isn't the TMobile update he's talking about. Also they didn't suspend it because of those issues. They suspended it because RCS is broken.

What do you mean? He said T-Mobile pulled their Pie update for the S9/S9+.

How do you know that's the sole reason?

He's not talking about updating his phone using the TMobile file. He's talking about using the ATT version.

Update went smooth, even went the adb sideload route since I didn't have an SD card on me. Finally getting a slice of Pie until TMO gets their act together!

Glad it worked! Presumably you're now without the Pro mode for shooting videos, correct? How about your compass--does that have the problem that some users have reported?

I never use Pro mode, but it looks like it works? How do I test the Compass? I opened Google Maps and it faced the right way when I rolled around in my chair so it looks like it works?

Cool, to tell the truth I never realized the Pro mode worked while taking video. I dont need that much doctoring to take pictures of my cats haha.

I didn't either, I'm going back on the unlocked rom check it out .. I can never sit still lol

It's especially important in low-light conditions, or if you're recording through a window and don't want the camera to focus on the window itself.

I do have the compass bug but as far as Pro on Video, it may not be a bug just that changed app and no longer available in video.

It may be intentional, but removing an important feature from the phone is a problem nonetheless. Updates are supposed to make the phone more useful, not less useful.

How do you determine if you have this bug?

You can look at the little compass on google maps but I also installed a compass app from play store and I know which way is north from home and it said I was facing E

I just downloaded a Compass app from the play store to test and yes it shows me facing the wrong way also. So I went to test Google Maps again and now it shows me facing about 180° in the wrong direction, yet it worked fine earlier. Weird, will this screw up Google Maps while navigating?

Sorry to hear that. I hope T-Mobile continues to hold off on this update. I haven't heard of any Pie features that are worth the camera downgrade and loss of the compass.

Well I just drove home from work and Google Maps and Android Auto both work as normal with no GPS issues, which is a huge relief. So do those services not use the compass?
