When making call, phone goes from LTE to H

When I make a call, my phone goes from LTE to H. Is that correct? I'm on The T-Mobile. My previous phone would stay on LTE during calls.

Ensure you have "Enhanced LTE Services" on within your settings.

Which is basically enabling VoLTE.

HSPA. You wouldn't see it since you are on Verizon.

Try rebooting and see if it helps. If not ensure your APN settings are right. If that is all good I would say probably try a new SIM card.

Have same issue. As well as my brother. Both on p2, tmo... Inclined to think it has to do with bad reception but I didn't thane this issue on my windows phone

T-Mobile does not support VoLTE on the Pixel as of now, only AT&T and Verizon do. You can still get simultaneous voice and data with T-Mobile, hence it switching down to HSPA+, which is the H you see. Maybe some day soon T-mo will support VoLTE on the Pixel since they have it on all of their phones.

This is odd because VoLTE is supported on the original Pixels just fine and also with WiFi calling.

That is incorrect.

TMobile most definitely supports VoLTE on the Pixels. I have two of them and both on T-Mobile and VoLTE and HD voice work on them. It worked on last year's Pixels too. WiFi calling also works.

I have T-Mobile and my Enhanced 4G LTE Mode is enabled. I noticed yesterday it dropped to HSPA on a call. Just confirmed it again. Odd that it stays on LTE for some and not others.

That isn't correct. T-Mobile supports VoLTE and WiFi calling on the Pixel and Pixel 2.

AT&T just started allowing VoLTE with the 8.1 update.
