When my Note 4 gets to 30% left it will die. Do I need a new battery?

I bought a cheap "Samsung" battery which I doubt was really Samsung, or else a refurb sold as new since the same thing kept happening. Then I bought a set of ankers and they've been working great.

Has this problem been fixed in newer phones or are we going to see a lot of super cheap note 5s in a few months?
Are you still happy with your new ankers batteries? I'm looking at refurbished OEM

The ankers were great, with a pair of batteries and a charger at work I almost never plugged it in to charge. But then my note 4 died last month from the mmc bug :(

I just ordered the 2 refurbished OEM incl. a charger from amazon.

What is the mm bug?

My old Note would die at 30% so i ordered a new Samsung OEM battery with portable charger from Sprint.com for around $25.00. Ordered another yesterday too!

My phone goes dead at like 60%

There are exceptions, but in general a symptom of "when my phone dies at [insert percentage above 0% here]" means the battery has developed some chemical/mechanical problem.

Buying a new battery of known-good quality is an inexpensive way to diagnose (and nearly always solve) the problem.

Anker and Samsung OEM are both great. The only real problem with Samsung OEM is that a lot of sellers sell fake ones that are not built to the same spec - so maybe you get a great battery at an excellent price, or maybe you saved ten bucks and ended up with a dud that will end up convincing you that your perfectly good Note 4 is toast, which would be a waste.

An Anker is like $17 on Amazon. Personally, I have no qualms paying $10 more for a known-good product when I'm talking about breathing another year of new life into my phone which would cost me at least $150 to find a good replacement on Swappa.
