When screen times out I cant get it back on I have to hold power till it restarts

Brand new tablet and when the screen times out I have to restart.
It makes sounds and Home and Back buttons light up. Take out the S Pen and it makes sounds but the screen stays black.
I have to hold power button until samsung logo and it starts up.
Please help.

Umm ... Try holding tabled in landscape and lightly touhing screen near center and lightly swiping to right side...

Might look in "Settings" then "Device" then "Lock Screen"... And see if "Swipe" is active for "Screeen Lock"..

Also Look in 'Help" file and then "Basics" and "Lock Screen" for Information on how to set it up..

Is Smart Stay on? This isn't how Smart Stay is supposed to work, but maybe the feature is causing some problems. Try turning Smart Stay off.

If this problem persists, I would contact the store and ask about an exchange.

I saw somewhere someone had the same problem as me. Also their brightness settings would not effect the screen which mine is doing.
They said it was loose ribbon cable. Not sure if that what it is but I'm not sending a 4 hour old tablet to get fixed. Problem is I got such a good deal and I can only return for refund or exchange for something else. I will not be able to find anything compared to this tablet.

Too good to be true. Main thing is I wanted a 10inch tablet that has pressure sensitivity that I can draw on for 350 or less.
