Hi guys,

I don't experience any slowing of my phone but i'm a phone paranoid. I want my phone to always run at 100%. Haha. Also, i've read some articles that clearing the cache partition makes your phone a bit faster. So when is this advisable to do? Every Week? Month? Quarterly? Also, are there cons in wiping cache partition?

Thanks in advance!

Really no cons to wiping cache. I do mine at least on a monthly basis.

If your phone is running well you will not see any benefit to wiping the cache. You could vary well see worse performance as the cache is rebuilt. The times you may want to wipe cache is if you have had an app that miss used cache or left parts of itself behind in the cache after uninstalling. And only if your experiencing slow downs, random reboots, freezes, or app crashes. The cache is there to reduce lag and the longer it has to refines its data the more it should be beneficial.

When I had my Galaxy Nexus, clearing cache was a weekly thing (if not even more often!). My S4 gets it roughly weekly as well - more out of habit then actual need though.
