When the OTA Update Hits...?

I rooted two days ago with unrevoked 3. I love it. It's great, to be able to flash ROMs, kernels, and other apps that require superuser permissions.

I'm still using the stock ROM, though, since not many ROMs are out for the Incredible that are stable. So, when this OTA hits (the one that includes 720p recording, Wireless-N support, and performance enhancements to Sense), I plan on:
  • Backup apps with Titanium
  • Going back to an unrooted Stock ROM
  • Applying the OTA
  • Rooting, then restoring apps, etc. with Titanium.

Would that work? Sorry for such n00b questions :o

OR should I just wait for a ROM to incorporate the OTA?

Thanks ;)

I believe I've read that would be a good strategy.

Since I don't particularly need 720 resolution...watching porn on a 3.7 inch screen really doesn't cut it anyway...I'll wait for the devs to put out their version.

I ****ed with this thing too long with the sd card route to mess with it now.

It might and it might not. If they patch something inside the recovery partition unRevoked will not work anymore. I would suggest just waiting on the devs to give us an update.zip that doesn't break root.

And if you keep messing with it you could brick your phone. There are a couple of people that the cracked update for some reason made them not have a charge icon etc. So they redid the update and now their phones don't even turn on. Unless you truely know what you are doing I would wait on the unRevoked dev team to push something out to us. It will be here soon enough you can wait a bit longer. ;)

Which is why I'm not messin'.

I've read that about the only way to brick an Android is to mess with the radio. The new update supposedly has a new radio.

Douger ain't goin' there...
