When will 4.2.2 come to Lg Optimus G?

Any ideas?

Hard to say because 4.3 hasn't been released yet. Generally, the non Nexus devices are behind by at least one OS version. So when the Nexus gets 4.3, soon the other devices may possibly get 4.2.

We barely got 4.1.2 a few months ago so i doubt 4.2.2 will come anytime soon...

Wasn't there only one primary change from 4.1.2 to 4.2.2?

Coming from 4.2.2 already there is a few few good changes.
Eg. Lock screen widgets
Quick toggles
Whole new camera interface ( bare in mind I'm on a nexus device so camera may be different from mine)
And various bug fixes

Group text messaging is fixed in 4.2. Does this phone already have that working properly? I just upgraded so I'm not sure

We haven't any upgrade plan for 4.2 OS updating of LGOG.

I hope in a lot of ways they skip 4.2.2 and go to 4.3 only because 4.2.2 has lots of software bugs and causes crashes/restarts (It did in all 3 of my nexus 4's).

my LGOG (the same phone) on 4.1.2 hasn't crashed or frozen once.

I do hope LG keep supporting this phone and don't just drop it now, this phone should of been released on JB so technically it hasn't had any updates.

I been buying LG smartphones (including their only tablet once upon a time), without a doubt I know LG's practice when it comes to OS updates. None!

My LG optimum G received the Android v4.1.2 LG update yes. But wait a minute, the only reason it did is because of the huge noise the user community made about previous LG devices never gotten OS updates. So more or less it was to quite the outcry, not save face.

Android v4.2.x for the Optimum G is coming, but it's not what you are all thinking. The catch is this, you have to buy the LG Optmus G2 (already in the works) to get the new OS.

As for the original Optimum G? Are we owners going to go through the same protests and complaints (noise) that we did with previous LG smartphones (tablet included)? I think not!

This is LG's philosophy in OS updates...buy the new version of the device to get the newer OS. LG, prove long time loyal customers like me wrong...please!

The LGOG and the Pro have been well received by both the press and consumers. The N4, also an LG device, is doing well too.

It might be a sign the company is taking mobile more seriously. That being said, another post said LG might skip 4.2.2 altogether and go right to KLP.

This phone works so well on 4.1.2, I don't know I'm in all that much of a hurry to get an update. Unless, of course an upgrade comes with added security.

We need an update to fix Google music all access.

A logical scenario is that LG first releases the G2 running 4.2.2, and then works on updating the older phones. Right now they don't have anything running 4.2, it makes sense that they would want to roll out their next-gen "Optimus UI" on new hardware rather than just deliver it as an update.

I think we will see a major update soon with android 4.3 . But i believe it will Christmas before we get official word that update is ready.

Well to be real and fair the lg viper got ics fairly quickly when i had it no jb but ics was workable and also ive heard of them skipping 4.2.2 and going straight to klp as well for one OP they cant stop updates like these anymore due to fragmentation and that would lead to class action lawsuits out the a## and im sure theydont want that in the old gb days maybe but jb is too advanced to just leave hanging with no updates patience is a virtue my friend just wait itll happen soon enough i mean we are running basically same hardware as the n4 im sure its in the works not only that from my understanding klp will only be able to run on quad core devices ergo why makethis beast of a phone just to leave hanging bottom line is if its not from a trusted credited source then dont buy into all the BS u read on the internet...

Am I the only one having issues on the Optimus G with 4.1.2? Phone has been very glitchy, reception issues, text deleting on its own (as if I were holding down backspace), apps force closing, etc. I really hope we get 4.2.2 or 4.4 Kit Kat SOON!

Not those exact problems here, but yes overall my phone hasn't been the same since that last update. Wi-Fi and weird reception issues, which is what was supposed to be improved :-\
