When will Samsung give out Review units?

Do you want to go into antennaegate? I'm not justifying the other poster's comments, but Apple suffers from defects, just like any other company. My roomie's iphone 3g didn't connect to GPS at all. Never got a lock. I asked him why he didn't take it back, he said, "I'll just wait for the iphone 4". Most likely, Engadget tried to get GPS lock indoors, which my Hero has trouble doing as well, but still works great in the car, when I actually need it. Who cares if you can't tell other people your long and lat while tweeting if google maps nav works just fine? We'll see how widespread the issue is at launch.

I agree that iphone suffers from defects and blind following that is a cult, but as far as antenna gate, the evo is just as bad, as are the galaxies for the same exact problem with the antennas and death grip, and the dinosaur blackberries actually are the least afefcted.

OT, but...

Death Grip never bothered me, kind of makes sense right?

It's the one-touch thing that bothers me. It bothers me even more that they say it works the way it should but then offer free bumpers / cases.

I am more concerned with when are stores gonna get their demo unit to play with

I cant wait for this phone to release

I don't imagine they are going to have units at the store to demo until release date. I would love to be wrong but that's how I've seen phones in the past on other carriers.

I agree as our Advocats just received their phones on Friday.

Actually, two of the reviews noted no issues with the GPS at all.

Interesting to see how different reviewers see / experience things.

Can you post the links to the other reviews? I would love to get some other takes on this phone. The Engadget review left me with a bad taste. Was it me or did it seem like they were disappointed with most aspects of the phone, saying other phones did this or that better?

NEGATIVES
- Keyboard - Droid 2 is better
- Camera/Video - Evo is better
- Screen size - Evo is bigger
- Audio - Droid 2 is better
- Didn't like Touch Wiz
- No on-board memory
- Too lightweight
- $50 more expensive

POSITIVES
- Nice Screen
- Back looked better
- No GPS bug - Read update on Engadget review

Did I miss anything?

I really want to love this phone and get excited about it again but all I can do is think that I should go out and play with Droid 2 and Evo some more. I'm even thinking of looking at the iPhone 4 :( since I already have a 3G... That makes me a little sick to my stomach, though...

I really liked the Slashgear review. They seemed the most optimistic about the phone. Also their videos were the most in-depth.

I would take all of this with a grain of salt. Especially the camera. Unless you are going to enlarge your pictures 5 megapixel will be just fine. I am not that impressed with the evo's video quality and its got a 8 mp camera. The keyboard is bigger on the Epic and what I gathered from the review is they wanted to see the keys have doming.

I have never seen a phone that can take 720p video that compares with broadcast TV. I think they are holding its to an impossibly high standard. The videos on youtube from other GS phones look quite good.

I agree with 100%. If I want to shoot something in HD I will use my Canon camcorder. I think the video quality is just fine coming off a phone. At least the sound seemed to be clear.
