When will Song ID be a part of Android Wear

According to this article, Testing the Google Now 'what's this song' feature | Android Central , Google Now has been able to identify songs since 2012. Why is it my 2014 watch is incapable when its supposed to be using the same service?

furthermore, why are Shazam and SoundHound not jumping on this?

Can't say why google have not made it work on the watch. Or why shazam can't be bothered to add wear support. However...

In the early days of android wear, an xda dev created something called echo search which worked pretty well. However, first it was yanked from the play store and now it seems not to work on AW5.

Fortunately, sony makes an app called track id which does have wear support and as far as I can tell, this is your only option at this time:

Great news that shazam is finally integrated on wear. Someone did test it? Is there an integration like "ok shazam" or something like that for the drivers?

There may be more, but "Open Shazam" works fine (and automatically starts "listening"). AND, AMAZINGLY ENOUGH, it has LYRICS too (ON the watch)!!!! It works like MAGIC!

Has anoyone actually got Shazam to work? I have tried various phrases but all I get is a open Shazam on the my phone icon.

In the app drawer on the watch you can open it directly. Haven't tried any voice commands yet
