oh gosh . rizzymo you gotta understand where the members and the mods are coming from when it comes to these post about when an update will be released. this is a forum to help people fix issues that are reasonable and can be fixed by other memebers. The whole update thing is Samsung and the carriers issue. post like this should be dealt with on ATT or samsung's site. android central cannot fix this or make the update come any sooner. people have offered solutions in which you refused. only thing left is to wait like everyone else.

BIG difference from 4.1.1 to 4.2.2. Definitely worth the root. SGSIII will get 4.2.2 from AT&T, like maybe never.

so true. there is nothing in 4.1 that i care about. now 4.2, thats what im waiting for.

misread your last post. Definitely a difference! Glad I rooted so I can experiment

The first patch/upgrade goes pretty well but the next either doesn't come out or by the time it does, it is either broken or nobody cares. So much so that the standard response to any "when are we getting an update" type posts anywhere is responded with, "root and ROM" within the first two posts.

Root the phone and flash a ROM.
Seriously, you have 3 choices. You can sit here and complain which does absolutely no good. You can stop take control, root and flash a ROM or you can vote with your wallet and move to another carrier and find some other reason to complain about that carrier on a board that has no power to do anything about your issue.
You all can start 25 more threads on this subject and it won't make the update happen any faster. From what I can gather the contract you signed is most likely like mine and makes no mention of updates

voids your warranty. the potential to brick you phone is always present but you have to work kinda hard to do that. take your time, watch some videos that show you how to do it. read up on it on xda... AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III - xda-developers
its pretty easy to do, just go slow and follow directions.
Best guide is right here in this forum. Go to rooting, roms and hacks, and look for Skunkape60's guide. Read it, and ask questions.
