I'd add to that a lack of commitment to HTC devices from AT&T as evidenced by their refusal to carry the 10. Why would they prioritize a nearly 2 year old device from a manufacturer they no longer support?

You wouldn't want the interns working on any real projects, now would you? Best to give them a dead end to minimise the damage. #ATTCares #notreally

I wonder how many people on ATT still use the M8. I was thinking that issue might come to play coupled with the latest develop with not carrying the 10..

Here it is, the news we were all expecting dreading:

Now if you'll pardon me, I'm going off to a nice secluded place to scream.

So if we're going by Mo Versi's timeline, two weeks from his April 29th tweet would be this Friday, May 13th. Way too much radio silence for them to make that deadline. It's probably safe to say this is yet another in the the long line of missed targets for the update.

Wow, just saw Mo's tweet! I guess my last post in this forum was what did it, haha Very happy Mo (but really AT&T) made good on this deadline. Now let's cross our fingers the ridiculous delay results in a 100% bug-free download! Everyone should weigh in once they download, please!

To reset the 24 hr timer when checking for updates:

Go to settings / apps / all
Find "HtcDm" (no spaces)
press "Clear data"

Go check again for the update!

I'm hoping it includes Wifi calling. Cell service at my house isn't that great. (and I thought it was just Sprint that sux)

Find "HtcDm" (no spaces)
press "Clear data"

Go check again for the update!

Yes, you should be able to. Except, on my M8, once you take the sim card out, it's a pita to get it recognize the sim again.

WTF.. so my stock, non-rooted M8, just errored out on update.

EDIT: I'm re-downloading it.. crossing fingers.

EDIT 2: Re-downloaded the whole 1GB file again and got the same error again..

EDIT 3: So I realized I only had a few gigs of space left which may be causing this(You'd think there would be a popup about space).. cleared out about 4GB of stuff and am re-downloading for a 3rd time.

EDIT 4: Downloaded a 4th time, same error as before. I'm going to link this post to Mo Versi.

Only 1 GB?!? Kinda small as I was expecting a much larger file size. No complaints if it works though!

I've attempted to install the update multiple times and am getting the same error as above. There is plenty of space on my phone, so that wouldn't be the issue. Does anyone have information/advice on how to fix this?

Finally got this fixed. AT&T said so many people tried to download the update at the same time this morning it caused errors. So far the new OS is running like a champ!
