This is what I've been saying. However, just like the spec war, Samsung needs to keep up with the latest version of Android to keep sales going.I Reckon March next year. We are hardly missing out on anything though as the galaxy phones have had a lot of the features in Android N for a while now e. g split screen, customisable quick toggles, quick reply to notifications etc

Samsung promised we will get Android n in 2-3 months
If history holds true it will be February at best. I just don't see it happening any sooner than that. I would love to be wrong.
I have a Note 4 on AT&T for my work phone. It's pathetic that it's still on lollipop. If you're on AT&T, never. They will be "optimizing" it until further notice. Their Galaxy Note 4 STILL does not have Marshmallow. I predicted in January that i'd have the Note 7 before they updated my Note 4, and here I am having enjoyed my Note 7 for a week and my Note 4 is no longer in use, and still on Lollipop.
This is why iphone seems appealing... I hate waiting on updates

Going by every Samsung phone I have ever owned, the Note 7 won't get it until spring 2017. The Note 5 on AT&T was still waiting for MM a few weeks ago.
these accounts of how long it took or how people are still waiting for the OS updates and even some patches, are what makes me not want to get a carrier device and even more so the Note (or even any samsung device). As much as I am intrigued by the features, I still need to keep my sanity with the regular updates and availability of OS updates on an ASAP basis.
