When will we get the wifi and brightness toggle update?

Has there been a workaround for this for not rooted devices? I'd love to have the wifi and the brightness slider just like it appears in this photo.

My guess is that on stock we will have to wait for jelly bean to get it back.

Not on stock, and we can only hope it's cooked into the official JB update. No shame in rooting / flashing the mod. I have it on mine and love it.

there wont be a non rooted (non-app) way to fix this. It is baked into the framework (or system UI) and those are system files. The only way they can be changed is with root and a mod.

I just use a WiFi toggle widget on my home screen and that works just fine
