Does anyone know when the "professional" web sites will be allowed to post their reviews on the Bionic? I'm sure the phone is already in the hands of reviewers or will be shortly. It's important to me to have some questions answered before I head out for Verizon on Sept 8:
1. How good is the screen, especially in bright sunlight? A year ago I had an emergency along a roadside on a bright July day and I could not see to dial 911 on my original Droid. I understand super amoled screens are better, but this isn't a Samsung phone. (My car burned up before the fire trucks could get there!)
2. How is the camera? Just because it's 8MP doesn't mean much. Only a review can tell us how well it's implemented. (Many of you remember the first Droid had a software problem which made the camera unusable at first.) I know a lot of you say you don't buy a phone for the camera, but increasingly that's not the case. The front-facing camera is not important to me, but I would like a good quality back camera.
3. What is battery life like? I don't have great expectations, but the Thunderbolt battery problems were a bit of a shock. Does Moto/Verizon do any better at power management?
4. Does Verizon load up the Bionic with unremovable crapware like it does on the Charge? They're certainly not going to tell us in advance and if they do, they're likely to call these things "enhancements."
You may have similar questions that only reviews can answer. Anyone else wonder if we'll see reviews in advance of 9/8?
