I am trying to find out how to access the files in the "Gallery" on my Nexus 4. I am a semi-pro photographer and do a lot of photography with my DSLR camera. In the past year or so I loaded a number of pictures to my old Color Nook tablet (N2A card; CyanoGen mod). It is a good way to have a "portfolio" available, although at a reduced quality, compared to paper prints, of course.
Well, the pictures have showed up on my new Nexus 4 in the "Gallery." I did NOT transfer them there; they were "magically" copied there somehow. (I suspect Google had something to do with it.) That's OK, but I want to add and remove images as time goes by. The problem: I have searched everywhere in the (available) data structure and have not found the images. They must be on my phone. I have checked by turning off the wireless and phone connections, and the pictures are still visible. They may be in the "cloud," but they are on the phone too...somewhere.
My question: Where in the heck are the files? I have a feeling that Google has hidden them for some reason, and that the only recourse for me is to "root" the phone to reveal all files. I will do this, if necessary, but am hoping that it will not be required.
(Please note: I am NOT talking about the pictures from the camera phone. I found them quite easily. These are not the ones I am trying to access.)
Thanks for any help you might be able to give.
