Android Central Question

I have a Samsung galaxy s8. Whenever I download a picture from the internet, it says it has been downloaded but I can't find it. It isn't in my gallery, or my files. I've checked the internal storage download folder, and the download folder within my gallery. I even did a manual search of my files, using the file name of the download. Nothing. So what I'm having to do is click the little arrow to say it's been downloaded, which opens the picture. And screenshot the picture. It's really annoying, as I could just screenshot the image from the net in the first place. Can anyone shed any light on what might be happening and how I can fix it?

When you open the downloaded image, touch the pic and select Properties or Info (?) to check stored location. You might have to select menu (3dots or lines).

I don't have a S8.

I've tried that but there are no 3 dots or any properties, it's just the picture and nothing else. Then as soon as I come off the picture, I can never find it! I've attached screenshots of the picture, then the picture when I've clicked it. No option for properties or anything

What app are you using to download the pictures?

Some apps like "google" like to hide the files in a private folder.

Web browsers, your better option, usually use the /Downloads folder.
