Hi guys
I recently got a trade up replacement phone (s21+) and I've exported all my settings across and everything is practically the same except for the app search bar and its driving me bonkers. Where do I go to change the transparency of the search bar so that it's like my old phone?
Old phone's search menu is not transparent / white background and very clear with my dark wallpaper. New phone is transparent / dark and you can't even see it?

Welcome to the forums. What phone did you have before? I haven't had a Samsung in a while, but I would guess the feature was dropped between models if it was there. You might need to consider a third party launcher like Nova to get that kind of feature.

Hey. Thanks. It's the same phone s21+ to s21+. Both phones have the most up to date software / updates.

Welcome to the forums. Do you mean the search bar in Recent apps or in the app drawer? This kind of layout items can adapt to your wallpaper or follow your theme. Just in case, long press an empty spot on your home screen, select 'Wallpaper & Style' and make sure both phones have the same options selected.

Hey Javier
Yep the search bar for recent apps. As you can see, the same wallpaper and theme is being used. I have gone through every single setting and made sure everything is exactly the same. received_566977658352106.jpgScreenshot_20220619-212156_One%20UI%20Home.jpg

Strange. It seems that your first screenshot doesn't apply the dark theme to your wallpaper and the second one does. Have you already checked that setting?
Yeah, I've clicked into every setting option in the menu (on both phones) and they're both exactly the same.

I'm not sure what dark theme setting you're talking about, I only have dark mode in the wallpaper setting but it doesn't change the search bar and then I have light and dark mode in display settings where it makes everything black.

Contemplating keeping my old phone at this point... I swapped it due to the battery drain but my OCD for being able to see the search bar is kicking in.

I've tried alternative wallpapers and themes. It's the same. Really dark search bar, can't see it unless the wallpaper is completely bright white.

For reference, my wallpaper isnt "dark" either.
It just goes dark when I go into the app drawer. Screenshot_20220620-073916_One%20UI%20Home.jpg

Welcome to AC!

Check in wallpaper and style is your color palette stock and dark mode not applied to wallpaper?
If those are good

Use a 3rd party launcher such as Nova to further customize this or try Good lock in Galaxy store and use home up module to try get this
