Where Do I Find Downloaded You Tube Videos?

It appears that it went to my SD card. It was a 3 hour Calming Meditation for sleep video that is over 1GB in size but when I look in the SD folder, it's not there. Also under My Files, I checked under Audio and Downloads and Videos. I watched the file size of the SD card go up as the video downloaded and the very few files that were on the SD card previous to that are no where near the 1+GB size. So why can't I see it?

Did you download using YouTube Premium? Downloads from Google apps for offline use are typically hidden from the user, so I doubt you can manipulate the file.

It's in the app. Go to your YouTube home page, click on library and you'll see Downloads.

Yes, YT Premium. I found info online that you can choose to save the file to your internal storage or sd card. I chose sd card. I watched the progress of the download and watched the file size grow larger but I can't see it on the card.

OK, I found the Downloads section and sure enough it's there so thanks. But, can you explain why the file apparently downloaded to my SD card. I watched the file size increase during the download. Is that just an encrypted file that links to the video in the download section of YT?

Google keeps the files hidden from the user so they can't manipulate the files, it's common with copywrite protection involved. Downloading the file lets you view it offline within YouTube, it doesn't mean you own it or can move it to another device/keep it after canceling YouTube. A number of other apps with offline viewing do the same thing.

Interesting. I guess this is the same thing that happened to videos i downloaded through chrome. I can see it in chrome downloads and view it there, but nowhere else on my phone even though I saved it to sd card.

Just like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The files are in the app.
Just go with it.

If you can still view it while in airplane mode, you're GTG.
