Where do you go to turn on your background data on a tablet?

where do you go to turn on your background data n tablet

everytime I try to down load an app it pops up saying I need to turn on background data I have been in every site its told me cant fnd it

Make sure you have an active data connection (system settings > wireless networks > data - either WiFi or Mobile Data if it's connected to a data plan with your carrier). Also, go into system settings > accounts and make sure the appropriate accounts are set to sync.
