Where has Alex's stripe gone

I'm new to Amazon Fire TV (2 days). I used it to ask Alexa about my diary...
I was told to check my Alexa home feed, whatever that is.
There seemed to be no settings for Alexa in the Fire, so I installed Alexa app on my phone, and configured my calendar there.

I went back to the Fire remote, and checked my calendar. Nothing today, so that's OK.

But now, whenever I use Alexa on the remote, I don't get the stripe across the top of the TV screen, indicating when I'm in voice control mode.

What have I done wrong?

Are you taking about the blue line indicator? That line should show itself when you press the microphone button. If not the you need to contact Amazon.
I just checkrd the Fire TV in the patio it show it just like the Five TV Cube.

It's intermittent. I woke the Fire from sleep and was at the Home screen. I pressed the Alexa microphone button and the blue line indicator appeared and beeped. In my surprise I let go the button, so I tried it again... No blue line (but the audible beep was fine.
I moved on to the "Your Videos" and the Alexa button did nothing.

I suspect I'm getting network congestion, as apps on my phone and tablet are stalling. Wow, a whole bunch of Alexa beeps all sounded at once. Has the Olympics started without my knowing?
