Oh, I'm with ATT so I had to get an unlocked one... That's crazy Verizon isn't updated but T-Mobile and other smaller companies have updated alreadyPeople on Verizon, the largest carrier in the US, are not updated yet.
This is pretty much the way it is with Android phones. Updates are always a crap-shoot. This is why phones like the pixel sell as one of their top features are timely updates. Doesn't make me want a pixel but it would be nice to get nougat on my 10. I knew this going into the 10 tho. So am not surprised. Fortunately there are numerous launchers that have borrowed some of the nougat functionality and from what I've seen and read about nougat so far it isn't all that anyway. My 10 runs perfectly on MM and doubtful it will be much better on N. The only thing I always hold out for is improved battery life and Nougat users so far are saying it is on par with MM. So, I'm not that excited.
But shouldn't u blame your carrier...I have the 10 and I have December security patchGot a point, but then i'm still wondering why i'm (maybe others to) are still on the august security patch...

They said carrier updates would be early in the new year. It's still early. I would expect the Sprint update in the next two weeks or so. We had security updates every month. Way more and faster than I anticipated......Sprint hasn't updated us either. :-[
Totally agree, I updated to lollipop and regretted it, I updated to Marshmallow and still wished I had KitKat on my m8. It will be the same for Nougat for the 10. Nougat will bring more functionality to the 10 but I'm going to stick with the OS that the 10 was designed for, Marshmallow.Im not sure why everyone is so crazy about getting update right away. If my phone had some issues, sure Id love to see an update, but lets face it. 7.0 isnt exactly some mind blowing difference from 6.0. It wont be a night and day difference on my phone that as of now works perfectly. Its more of a refresh than a overhaul of the OS. So I welcome the update when it comes, until then Im more than happy with how this phone performs.
