where is the revamped Android Market app?

Ok so today I automatically got the market update on my 2.2.1 epic. My father in laws 2.1 epic still has no update which really surprised me.

I'm on froyo and I haven't received the new market UI yet it's kinda frustrating.

I reverted back to 2.1 to exchange my phone for a replacement after getting the market on 2.2. When I opened the market in 2.1, it installed the new market.

New market installed today here. Stock 2.1 ROM.

I was downloading another app. When it finished I hit "back" to go from the app page to the main market, and I was looking at the new market. No restart or notification of any kind, and I was right in the middle of using it.

I'm sure Sprint is staggering the rollout to prevent congestion but I can't crack the pattern if there is one.

It's actually not Sprint pushing out the update, it's Google silently pushing out the update. But you're right, it's being rolled out gradually.

It's on my stock 2.1 Epic now, and sure looks better, and a little nicer to use than the old one.

Interestingly, it wasn't on when I opened Android Market tonight. But when i went back to the app, by long-press Home button, it was. Nice surprise.

I can't believe anyone likes the new market. I think it sux bad. Wish I could have had a choice.

We are saying the same thing. Google co-locates their servers inside the carrier's networks to keep them from getting swamped. Sprint gets to throttle them.

Does the market app you got have a Sprint tab? Mine does. I assume that means they got to do some extra cooking prior to rollout.

They use Sprint's servers, but Sprint actually doesn't have to cook anything when it comes to the Market. The only reason I say this is because pick up any apk of the new market and install it manually, it will always take on the tab of the carrier you are on. If the carrier themselves had to modify the market to reflect this, the manual install would show the carrier tab of whatever carrier "version" of that market.

The Android Market is designed to automatically detect which carrier you are on, and display that carriers tab with their apps, and filter out apps for the other carriers.

Just received New market update today

I am curious why I just received the new market app update today?

All of the sudden i opened my market app and it was the new version.

Why wasn't it pushed to me the same time as most others?

I am running Stock Epic no custom ROMS no root..

I run launcher Pro and thats it..

Weird.. tat it took so long for my phone to get the updated App Market App..

Yeah I just got it as well. Must of been in no particular order. Just rolled out in batches.
