Where Samsung Pay didn't work for you.

But I think it is a genuine issue Samsung pay is going to face because many merchants will not know that using magnetic reader on samsung pay is safe. The thing is that now with liability shift and EMV becoming relevant the merchants don't want to take a risk with magnetic swipes and they may not be aware of the fact that even though samsung pay uses magnetic swipe it still sends EMV code and is safe.

I think the cashier was confused about the scolding. There is a difference between samsung pay and using numbers written down on a piece of paper.

Just had a hospital cafeteria deny me from using Samsung Pay. Cashier put her hand up to keep me from putting the phone to the magnetic reader. I was told a manager had scolded them previously for allowing transactions where the card wasn't present.

I plan on contacting the company about it. I feel like someone doesn't understand how it works.

I did have a Starbucks cashier swear that I had hacked the terminal and was paying with a stolen credit card. The manager, fortunately, just smiled and handed me my coffee.

I had 3 people just stare at me like WTF did he just do?

When I tap the phone at 7 11 it doesn't even give me a debit or credit option... it just goes straight to asking for my PIN.

I did log an issue with the spay support. I've had some other places today recognize samsung pay, let's me go through the motions and comes back declined or not authorized. I called BOA to make sure there wasn't a issue with my card or account and they said it was fine. My account is registered to use samsung pay.
Weird.

I have it declined when I do debit for 711 only so therfore use it as credit it should work. And maybe try deleting card and redoing it.

I'll try that tomorrow.
Also got declined on one of the machines where the cashier has to type in the price.

It works at 711 have to do credit so hit cancel red x and select credit this is 711 problem not samsung

What place was that? If she had to do price was that before she selected debit it credit? When that happen to me I got card read error but then it worked after they cancelled it and redid it

I hit three places in a row where I couldn't use Samsung Pay: gas station and self-serve parking (both used "dip" style machines that suck up your entire card) and Urban Heights restaurant in Bethesda, Maryland, where I paid with Android Pay via the Open Table app. (It's pretty cool. If you make your reservation there through Open Table, you can check on your bill at any time during the meal. At the end of the meal, go into the app, add a tip, and it pays through Android Pay. No check, no account numbers floating around the restaurant. Just need Samsung Pay to get on it!)

Samsung pay should work at that restaurant just like android pay also u said dip machine is that the insert one? If so that Def won't work

I just used it at CVS. The terminal said that it was an invalid swipe and just when I was getting ready to try an actual credit card the display changed to show the credit options and if I wanted cash back. I'm not sure if the cashier had to do something on her end or what but it ended up going through.

Figured out the 7 11 issue so that's good. I also removed and reloaded my card and so far since it's been 100%

Ok. So before swiping I need to hit the red button and select credit instead of debit for Samsung pay to work at 7 7 11. Thanks.
