Where Samsung Pay didn't work for you.

I just left Walmart and it worked like a charm and it was an older cc reader. It seems like they are changing readers. This one did not have the part where u would slide your chipped card into

Re: Why Samsung Pay doesn't work for you.

I have the Note5. I thought that Samsung Pay would be great. However it does not work with many banks. I have tried putting 2 different bank accounts into it 1 was a MasterCard & the other a Visa card. Neither would be accepted. o, be aware of this. I'm sure they will add other banks in the future. But as right now, Samsung Pay is useless to me.

Yes, it doesn't work with many cards. I ended up getting an American Express Green Card and some others have changed banks or cards to use Samsung Pay. I decided on another card as I only have one credit and one credit union ATM card, so I thought it would be fine financially. Plus I'd use this in place of either, I didn't want to change to a bank, so I figured this was one way to do this.

I just got it and tried it once, at the vending machine at work, and it went through quickly and easily.

Haha, just to let u know that anxiety feeling I had in the beginning but it went away after my 4th or 5th time. So no worries lol. As far as your last transaction went. If that occurs again don't focus on beep see if the screen changes. If the screen changes then you are good, you can easily ask the cashier did it go through when u hear the beep. Some places you have to wait for the cashier to completely finish and hit total. Not promoting my video but I have one on YouTube that I was to fast and had to wait on cashier. YouTube Samsung Pay fast and easy.

" Samsung Pay performance anxiety" Yes. I had that at the vending machine this morning, my first time trying it out. Someone was waiting for the service elevator but he was on his phone, another one getting ice. But it went through faster then the credit card I've used.

" YouTube Samsung Pay fast and easy." Thanks for the video, I liked it. I'm sure I'll get over the anxiety soon. I've actually never saw anyone use their phone, so it's all so new.

Mine got declined at Walmart earlier and I quickly tried again and it worked.

I think it's a matter of finding the sweet spot on the phone. I've noticed that when I hold the upper third of the phone toward the middle of the reader it seems to work best.

I tried mine at Walmart self service check out a few times last night and it said declined each time. I think I tried 2 or 3 times. It was a newer card reader. I just swiped my bank card. I'm thinking of trying again though. I was a bit nervous. And even after watching a few YouTube videos, I wasn't sure how to hold it.

Your other transactions worked properly? What I do sometimes is hold it sideways the back of course towards the swipe just like you would if u had a card in your hand u also can hold it against the swipe part as well. Turned sideways. Even of it was a newer reader u should have been ok. Did u try credit or debit. Bc if it says decline then it worked bc u got that far. So I do not think it's is the way u r holding it or the fact of it being a new reader.

I only used it once before at my work vending machine and it worked quickly and easily. At Walmart I did try in the front of the swipe twice I believe and on the side. I did press credit the second time for sure because I remembered that tip.

I just tried at my first Best Buy. It worked but you need to hand your phone to the cashier and he asked to see id. I don't know if that's just with Amex

I used mine at Best Buy and it worked fine. The cashier asked for my card and I said "it's not a card, it's a phone." He asked for the last 4 digits of the card and I gave him the last 4 digits of the virtual card number and I was on my way.

I tried to use Samsung Pay at the Sprint Store and it wouldn't work. I ended up having to swipe my physical card.

It's been hit or miss for me lately

I've noticed that in some of Samsung's commercials on YouTube, they have people holding their phones alongside the magnetic strip reader, rather than over it. I've been holding mine over the reader, and it seems to work fine.

I hit a parking lot at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore today where I couldn't use it. The card reader was the kind where you have to insert your card and it disappears completely.

I could not get mine to work at a 7 11 store tonight. It didn't have nfc and the swipe was sideways and it was between the screen and keypad.

I've had success with those at 7-11. I placed my phone in the middle of the reader

I deleted and reloaded my card and I've been 100% since. You have to figure out which places to use it as credit and which ones you can use as debit.
It's also nice to see chase throw in their hand before the end of the year.

Hey turn phone sideways so the phone is over the swipe. now with 711 their system only allowed me to use credit so u going to have to cancel it when it shows debit and chose credit. I have figured it how to do it regular as well I held it over the left side of the reader the normal way so try the sideways first

Has anyone successfully used their debit card at Costco? My card was read but after I put in the pin it said card not authorized

The cashier in the gas station refused to let me use it. She kept saying "we don't accept that here". Hitting the decline button on her register even though she saw the machine accepting the payment. Lol
