Where to drop ringtone files

I was setting up my mom's D2 today and was moving stuff from her BB to the D2 (D2 has bigger memory card in it). But for the life of me I can't figure out where to drop the ringtone files. I can get the phone to "see" them (as in they are in the ringtone list) but if you select one of the files that was dropped in, it just plays a classic ringer sound. Anything new downloaded from Zedge works, and all stock ringtones work. The files that I am trying to drop in originally came from Zedge but there are like 70 or so and I really do not want to have to download them all again.

There shouldn't be a problem with the files themselves, because they are the same set I copied and pasted to my X and my stepdad's DInc, and there are no problems there.

Any advice is appreciated!!

Odd, I just made a folder called "ringtones" and it works just fine.

My ringtones I put in the "ringtones" folder on my SD card never work until I restart my phone. Have you tried that?

Generic- Was the ringtones folder in a specific place? I know there is a Zedge folder that has a ringtone folder in there which is where the newly downloaded stuff goes. I tried there but didnt workd. I will try to just create one on it's own...thanks!

Ragnarokx- I have restarted the phone, but will try that again. Should I also pull the SD card and reinsert?

my phone has done this randomly a few times where i'll get a call and it's the cheesy default ring. i always just restart and it starts using my ringtones again. i just created a "ringtone" folder whenever i set mine up.
