Where to find a new wall USB charger?

For my Xoom, I had purchased a second wall charger so I could charge at my desk or next to the bed. Now for my Prime, I purchased a new USB cable to do the same. But I can't get it to work through my old wall USB chargers.

If I switch out the new cable for the original one and use the original wall plug converter, then it works just fine. But I can't get either cable (new or old) to work with my generic wall USB chargers. Is a certain voltage needed? Has anyone purchased a new wall USB charger that works? Am I just having bad luck?

Thanks for any help on this one.

Thanks for the links. But why wouldn't a basic USB wall charger work? I already have the cable (cheapest I could find was $15); I just want the part that connects to the wall. It seems like it shouldn't need an OEM part for this.

Grrr....

Nevermind. After an evening spent scouring the nets for info I have my answers. Tablets (especially this one) are made to suck more juice more quickly than the basic wall USB plug can convert (same reason it won't charge from a comupter USB port). The OEM plug is made to kick out the requisite juice (11V). Even the "IPAD chargers" on Amazon only kick out 10V so they won't work well enough. We are stuck using these proprietary ones.

Oh well. It was a night of lots of reading and lots of learning. Still love the Prime, but wish it was easier to charge.

Yes, you have to use an OEM and wall outlet. I can't get mine to charge with my portable power supply. I can get it to keep the current charge, but not add a charge. Still, with my tablet lasting all day during heavy use, the wall charger's fine for me.

I don't know if anyone is still looking, but this is the genuine ASUS charger for the TF101... which also charges the Prime.

I bought two, and they both work great. By appearances, it's the exact same charger as what came with my Prime.
