I can answer this question myself; expansys .fr have the dual sim version on sale. I received mine yesterday.

Their UK site does NOT have the dual sim model for sale even though the specs on the site is listed as "Dual SIM".

I've been looking for somewhere to get the X Play dual-sim also. It looks like Pixmania have it, just ordered one... lets hope it's dual-sim when it arrives.

(I'm new so can not post links.... but its on the X Play dual-sim is listed on the UK Pixmania website)

expansys .fr - it is shipped from London so I got mine the next day. Note the one on sale on the UK website is a single sim model even though it says dual sim on their website.

I also ordered mine from Expansys.fr. Placed the order at about 1pm on Tuesday and it turned up at 11am the next day. It came from Expansys in Manchester according to the delivery note. Very happy with the speedy delivery.

Does anybody know if the UK model has dual sim hardware inside? It's definitely got a dual sim tray, just with a blanking plate on it.

On the XDA Developers forum; someone has successfully flashed a single sim model to recognise both sims. I can't post a link as I'm a new user. But if you go to the Moto X Play forum, the thread is titled 'Dual Sim and Single Sim'.

I ordered mine from expansys fr. Its in French but I have the Google Translate extension in Chrome.

My phone was shipped from there UK warehouse. I got it the next day before 12pm.
