where to saving contacts?

Just wondering when it asks where to save contacts, are there pros/cons between saving them to phone, simply card, or mail?

If you save them to your google account they are backed up in the cloud so if something happens to your phone or you root it they will not be lost! If you save them just to your phone if anything happens you will have to enter alot of numbers again
