Where to store apps?

I've heard / read exact opposite thoughts:
(1) Andoids prefer apps stored in the phones main memory and not the SD Ext Card because it takes less time for the processor / phone to locate the apps location and subsequently load it

(2) Androids work faster and better if the internal memory is larger i.e. apps stored on the SD card.

So which is it? Store apps on the phones internal memory...... or the ext SD card?

Unless you're rooted, you can't install apps onto the external SD card anyway, and even if you're rooted, I'm not sure how successful you'll be with Jellybean and above.

Before KitKat you could install any app that had permission to access the SD card on the SD card. With the S4 that is

Oh, I wasn't aware of that (I don't have Samsung devices). Would it move the entire app over, or only a portion (which is what it was like back in Gingerbread and under)?

Sorry, not true Diddy. I have all but a few of my apps currently stored on my ext SD card.

Are you suggesting that KitKat will NOT in fact give us the option to store the app on the SD card? Verizon customers still haven't received the update.

About moving apps to SD card; Samsung use to let you do that on 4.2.2.
Let me check now that I have KitKat.

Have in mind I have the Sprint GS4, Verizon loves acting weird.

To answer the OPs question, apps do load faster from internal.

Thank you. Which do you feel is better?

I'll say is more about how do you feel about it.

I'm not sure about Spencer, in my case, I rather have the option to move them into the SD card if I feel like it.

I typically allow apps to use the internal and I move any media files (which usually are the biggest anyway) to the external.

That's what I do. I just like having the option just in case I ever need to.
