Where's the major update?

Remember back in June when the G6+ was announced, LG said they were going to update the G6 to face unlock and add low power consumption?

Not to mention, I'm searching everywhere to see how LG is doing in Korea with LG Pay. I can't find anything.

Starting to think that if we don't see an update by the end of the year it probably won't make it to the G6 and be saved for a G7.

Pretty sure these features have not made it to all carrier versions. Since we HAVE gotten a couple of security updates however, I'm thinking maybe this will all be rolled into one update for Android O (but I am not holding my breath on that coming before the end of the year, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it mid-2018 actually).

Face unlock was in one of the T-Mobile updates. Pretty sure T-Mobile didn't do that on their own.

I actually believe the G6 will get Oreo around Dec. 2017 it's the small updates that suck with the G6. I have the Verizon one and it's still on July security patch.

My Verizon G6 has the face unlock as shown in the video above. I don't use it though. I use fingerprint, trusted places (I have 3 set up), and/or PIN as needed.

I don't see face rec on my tmobile model, but it does have some power saving game settings.

Yes, July update. Software version VS98812B. As far as I know, that is the latest version released by Verizon.

Unless LG has hijacked the menu item, "trusted face" in the smart lock settings is NOT the LG feature. It is a standard Lollipop feature that has been around forever. I guess some things don't become a "thing" until a major manufacturer (usually Apple) implements them.

Just curious, but have you seen something that says they are trying to get it out to us by then? It would be cool if there was some sort of confirmation.

I haven't seen anything. Total dark lol. T-Mobile G6 already got October update. Not sure what's the hold up

Hopefully this update comes soon for LG users! I feel like it wouldn't be good business sense for LG to not bring this update to the G6... Especially if they announced that it would come soon for LG G6 users.

Sorry but at least here in europe the phone performs awesome with last update, if there is no need for any fixes why would they release the update. When there is nothing wrong with the phone. Ok security updates i get it. But still the oreo os near the corner what more do you want and need ?

Security update would be wonderful. Verizon has us stuck on July and it is almost November.
