Where's the March update?

Unlocked P6P, Xfinity Mobile.... downloading. Now if I can get my Pixel Watch to do the same.

Pixel 6 Pro, Google Fi. Downloading...

Same and downloading.

edited to add: Still going strong after one hour. And I'd guess the progress bar is only 2/3 of the way across "installing security update"

I thought this update included a Feature Drop which was supposed to have faster Night Sight with adjustable exposure time. I don't see that option on my phone and the version number for the camera app isn't 8.8. It's still 8.7.250.494820638.44.

Is the camera update going to be a separate release via Google Play Store?

Yes it is. It's coming out in stages. Started on the weekend?

When it first rebooted, there was a screen (I could not capture it) that showed new night camera feature. Looking at Google Play, the camera app shows updated on March 6, I think.

They show the feature in the Pixel Tips app, too.

Good to see other BB refugees have landed here.

My guess is that there will be a special update for Verizon. That happened late last year too.

I can understand rolling the updates out in stages. Most people do not care or even know. But for those of us who do track things, that "check for update" button should pull the update down, not just be a fake button. I seem to remember around Android 10 or 11, that Google promised it would be an actual, working button, but they have removed its functions. Part of buying unlocked from Google was supposed to be avoiding carrier interference.

I was very down on Google/Pixels based on my experience with the P6 for the first 6 months. Then it got better. I wrote on another thread just recently that I was pretty happy with it now. But this update experience is making me think that for the first time in 10 years (since Nexus 5) my next phone will not be a Google phone. The most important feature to me was to always have the newest/latest software. Before that Nexus, I hated that there was new software out there that Motorola (I was a Droid guy before) that I may or may not get. Avoided Samsung for a long time due to the same issue. But now Samsung does it better than Google.

The night sight camera update just came through for me. See how it works tonight.
