which extended battery is best?

So, how is that gorilla battery working for you guys? I have the extended battery from verizon, it works good, but I cannot make it through the day at work if I start web surfing. I'll get 6 to 8 hours out of it. I think the gorilla battery would be a better bet for me. My settings: display:10% gps off auto sync off, underclocked to 900 MHz and undervolted, using quick clock and jrummy's overclock app together with profiles, using beautifull widgets, Facebook, etc, all my widgets set to reset once every hour, background data off. I got terrible reception at work, so web surfing is a killer. My display turns off after 2 minutes.

Mine according to USPS tracking is in Denver currently. Musta had to stop for some...what do Gorillas eat?

It's alll gona come down to how well 3500mhz was put together in the battery. Once we get a few good charges in it then run it as normal, we shall know.

Be curious to hear how this battery performs as well . As everyone said sounds almost to good to be true .I wonder if battery gets hot or makes phone run hot? :-\

I have a 1750 mah seidio already and that adds a few hours but wouldnt hurt to have more :)

On the bad side I couldnt use my Kraken case tho :(

Well 5 full charges+2hrs on my Seido 2600 and its lasting ALOT longer then expected. I left it full(er) on sat night, no wifi or anything special just downloading market stuff, texting, and app usage and it was at 80% when I woke up Sunday afternoon around 3p. Not bad at all. Gorilla has competition.

Any reports on this gorilla battery lol....Its looks ridiculous but if it serves its purpose then I can understand....I hate that I have an verizon extended battery and get maybe eight hours of heavy use....would love 12 at least or is that asking too much for a phone?

Same here. I can only get 8hrs from that same battery. If I start web surfing forget it, it's game over. I loose about 10% every half hour when I do when using 3g. The thing I want to do most, which is web surfing, is the least I can do damn it. I work about 10 to 12 hrs every day, so I need a battery that can last at least 12 hrs. The gorilla batt seems to be able to do that according to other reviewers. It just looks a little ugly on your phone.

LOL @ a lil ugly....there is no case or skin built to hide that ugliness...but if I can get on and surf the web and only loose twenty percent id be willing to try it out i guess and resale if i dont like it for 25 dollars!

How do you only get 8 hours of heavy use out of the BH6X?

What are your phone settings?

Wi-Fi on or off?
GPS on or off?
Bluetooth on or off?
Screen timeout?
Screen backlight level?
Battery settings?

With all those set to the most conservative setting you should be able to get about 12 hours out of the phone regardless of what you are using it for. The only thing that will drain it the most is constant 3G, so if you are downloading massive files back to back for 8 hours, then I can understand that. But surfing and email, aren?t constant.

Wi-Fi - OFF
GPS - Use wireless checked / GPS off / Enable Assisted GPS checked
Bluetooth - OFF
Screen timeout - 2min
Screen backlight level - ON Auto
Battery settings - MAXIUM Batt saver

People keeping telling me just the screen being on....which has to be the answer the way i see it!

Your settings aren't too bad until you get to your screen. The backlight sucks up a lot of power. I got mine turned all the way off (which is still somewhat on) and my screen timeout set to 1 min (I was getting tired of the 30 sec. timeout).

Sorry guys I was dealing with CM7 on my girl's Aria last night(tough lil ***** of a phone) and forgot to post that I received my Gorilla battery when I got home from work. I am using it right now after being fully charged plus an hour overnight. Heres my settings real quick..

Wi-Fi on or off? - OFF
GPS on or off? - OFF
Bluetooth on or off? - OFF
Screen timeout? - 30min
Screen backlight level? - Auto
Battery settings? - stock?

So its currently 0740 and I woke up at 0545 and Im at 90% according to BattStat widget. Im now at work and using Wireless Tether for my laptop, playing my music collection w the stock player(gota love Rammstein at 0700), and soon will be texting and browsing. Updates to follow. Oh and yes this is a FAT battery w the same kinda door my Seido came with.

Cool beans! I noticed your rooted as well...does that effect battery life in any way? Or is that for speed, tethering and useless bloatware?

I will be checking back to see how it goes....

I think battery life is 95% dependant on your usage obviously but yes sometimes rooting affects battery life as it allows so much more functionality on the device. You can overclock the cpu, tether your signal(which Im doing now) and sometimes with the right app you can get rid of those aps that they want you to have. Plus overall, Android devving is fun. Better than crack right?

Well its 1100, haven't used the phone too much and batt is down to 80%(6hrs awake). Feels like it is running warmer than usual. Oh I dont mean to be rude but my gf is quite impatient. I have another thread on the forum running abotu her phone and some difficulties Im having if any of you feel like takin a whack at it....

For 8hrs 59min 46sec (9 hours) of phone usage and standby time since last charge at 100% - the 1840/1930mAh BH6X is now at 50%

Display used 34%
Browser 20%
Media 12%
Idle 12%
Android System 11%
Cell Standby 10%
Android OS 2%

That was with 998 MB (1 Gig) of data downloaded and about TWO minutes of talk time. :p

My phone settings are:

Wi-Fi OFF
GPS OFF
Bluetooth OFF
Display Timeout: 1 Min
Display Brightness: 0%
Battery Settings: Custom - 15 minutes at peak and off-peak hours.

If you want a long lasting battery, turn the display down to it’s most conservative settings. I had downloaded an entire gig of data in less than 9 hours of use and the display still ended up sucking up the most power.

OK, I am confused.

You said that the 3500mAh Gorilla battery comes with a door just like the 2800mAh Seidio battery door.

But, when I look at the pictures on the web they look nothing alike:

Seidio battery installed in the X

Are the pictures accurate?

The Seidio door looks hideous, while the Gorilla door looks somewhat natural to the phone.

apologies i didnt mean size i meant form n function. goes on and off the same way

Ah, ok. I think I will be getting this battery, just havent gotten around to it yet.

So, does it suck? Is it better than the Seidio? Or do you think you might need some more time to play around with them both.

The Gorilla back door does look better. I just realized that my GPS car mount has a back plate that comes out. It might fit the DX with either extended battery. But I'm more concerned about battery being a bad battery and messing up my phone.

By the way, how is the Gorilla battery?

The gorilla has been doing well. Most importantly for me, since I am on call w work 24-7, it keep charge when not in use. I can go to bed at 3a like I did last nite w full charge and wake up today at 130 and still have 90%. Granted screen lock kicks in but there are still minimal app activities running and receiving of messages emails etc. So far, I see it doing just as well as the Seido if not better. Gona design a multimedia test on Monday and see how it performs with downloading, streaming, etc.
