Which keyboard do you use most?

95% of the time I use Swype.

Longer emails I use the physical keybaord, but it turns out I'd be fine without it, but only because of Swype. I would use the physical keyboard more often if I had to use a standard touch-type keyboard.

I primarily use the virtual keyboard (SwiftKey or Smart Keyboard). I tend to use the physical keyboard for passwords n stuff.

Used the physical keyboard mostly at first, then I got used to swype. Now I can't stop using it. I only use the keyboard when i'm playing roms now.

Same here. Swype is awesome! Only time I use the physical KB is when I'm typing very long messages.

This seriously happened to me the other day. My friend was using my phone and I actually thought they were pulling it apart. That is when I remembered I picked this phone over the evo for the keyboard...

I downloaded a regular keypad for T9 use...it's the only way to go...it's called "a better keyboard" app, I think. I'm so used to T9 and it's much easier to use than those tiny keyboards.

SwiftKey about 25% of the time.
Hardware Keyboard the other 75%.

I don't really have a discernible pattern. I almost automatically slide out the keyboard whenever I need to text input.
...but if I had to guess, I would say that I use the virtual keyboard only when I think landscape view is too restricted. So when I need to type while looking at long lists. Or if there is an advert that takes up way more list viewing space while in landscape than in non-landscape.

I use swype about 20% of the time and the hardware keyboard for the other 80%. Maybe I have spent too much time with Treos and Blackberrys but I am much more comfortable with a real keyboard.

I use Swype for quick text's but the keyboard for business emails. It is great having the option to use both. One drawback is that tapping the homescreen in the upper left corner to open an app (with the slider closed) makes a hollow sound as the phone is a bit loose up there. Annoying, but having the keyboard is key for business dealings for me. Swype is an awesome thing in itself, too.

Mostly use the Android virtual keyboard and sometimes the physical one. I’m getting more and more used to the physical one, so I’ve been using it more frequently lately. I can’t seem to get used to Swype for the life of me.

swype is a great touch keyboard but I use the hardware keyboard for anything more than a few words or when typing urls or email addresses.

I bought the Epic over the EVO because of the hardware keyboard that I stopped using after about 2 days. Swype 100% of the time.

Surprised to hear this, the eris has such a great hardware keyboard.

/sarcasm

hahahah

but really, i use swype probably 70% of the time, and then the hardware keyboard.

but i think im gonna install a regular keyboard like the droid x's (one with multitouch) because when i try and type on a regular keyboard i sometimes hit a key without raising my finger or something (maybe i type too fast? jk)
and the reason i dont type normal with swype is because its a little harder to type on using both thumbs. the numbers dont preview-pop and sometimes it thinks im swyping so it spellls small words like hi or something of the sort

which keyboard do you use most?

the keyboard was one of the reasons i purchased the epic in the first place, but as i've started to get faster with swype i hardly use the physical keyboard.wish my evo had swype on it!

Keyboard preferences

Which keyboard do you prefer for your samsung epic? Physical keyboard? Swype? Stock android keyboard?

I prefer the swype keyboard, I make almost no mistakes anymore and it's so fast. The physical keyboard is nice to have but nothing to rave about in my opinion. I liked the keyboard on my rumor 2 more. I haven't used the stock keyboard too much so i not much to say. I used swift key but didn't like it, swype just tickles my fancy too much, and about a few months ago I thought swype was a useless idea.

i like swype if im using only one hand.

if im using two hands ill use the physical keyboard and smartkeyboard pro.
and whats cool about smart keyboard pro is that it shows the "predicted" word for the physical keyboard too. i came from the iphone 3gs so im used to typing on a virtual keyboard and smartkeyboard is a very similar.
between the physical and smartkeyboard, it really just depends on what i feel like typing on. more and more i find myself using the physical keyboard because i want to - both speed up my typing on it, and simply because i have it.

but surprisingly im thinking about bailing on my phone when 2011 comes around to get the motorola olympus. but then i started thinking about the fact that we get 4g - i guess the whole keyboard debate is getting to me

If I had a physical keyboard I would definitely use it more than the virtual options. I like the ability if typing while seeing the full screen. It is the one thing that I don't like about my Droid X. Also, the keyboard on the Epic is one of the best that I have ever seen. I would definitely use it more if I had it. I only use swype when my phone is resting on a surface and I don't feel like picking it up.

I use Swype most of the time, but still use the keyboard for email addresses and urls, usernames, and passwords. I like Swype even more since I found out all the shortcuts, like All Caps, arrow keyboard, auto spacing off, etc... I had a blackberry once so I thought I'd like a physical keyboard. Glad to have it sometimes.
My wife only uses the keyboard.
The Evo would still be lacking in my opinion without the keyboard because it only has the 4 axis accelerometers, unlike the 6 axis that all the Galaxy phones have. It IS a big difference in certain apps and games.
