I have a non-carrier bound Galaxy S5 (SM-G900F) and use it in Europe. While the phone is OK, Samsung is a disaster in managing security updates. There is ZERO info on what the update schedule for my phone will be, ZERO commitment to providing security updates and the phone is currently vulnerable to StageFright. This is so bad, I've spent some time considering leaving Android but gave up for now due to not finding any reasonable alternative.
So now I'm considering switching manufacturer. Is there any major manufacturer that has public info on their security update schedule for their phones, broken down by exact phone model, carrier (if applicable) & country so that you would know when to expect security problems being fixed and when to NOT expect that due to the phone not being updated anymore?
