I left my Droid1 for this phone and am very happy with my decision (although if I hadn't rooted I'm not sure I'd be as satisfied). I was eligible for an upgrade and Verizon was doing the buy one get one free offer (not too mention I had been anticipating this phone's release for a while) so the time just seemed right.
I left a Samsung Omnia with SPB Mobile shell because my wife sent it through the wash. I really like that phone and I'm having a hard time adjusting to android. The battery life is the most frustrating right now.
Wow, I'm pretty surprised how many of you are coming from dumb/feature phones. Glad to have you in the smartphone ranks. I think this is also the first time I've ever heard anyone speak longingly of the Omnia. =p
Haha, nice! So far it seems to be mostly BlackBerry Storm and LG Dare owners, which would make a certain amount of sense. Most folks would be coming up on their NE2 if they'd purchased those devices at or around their respective launches. It's especially hard to believe the Dare is only about two years old now; it feels like the phone was launched sometime last century.
