My former phone was a Motorola Hint. I was an Alltel customer that got taken over by Verizon.

Re: Which phone are you coming from?

Storm omg w hg at a piece of steamy poo. I stuck with it till the end. But what a ride...i put every leaked os I could...its sitting on my desk gasping its final breath...the last vestige power..only a faint led ...trying to get my attention away from mt new misstress ...

Came from Storm 2. For the longest time I held onto the bb thinking it can still be something. extremely disappointed in OS 6. BB is light years behind. Only thing they have going for them is BBM. thats about it.

I'm coming from the Storm 2. Had the Tour before that and the Storm 1 before the Tour. I was a pretty big BB fan and still like the OS and the quality of the builds.

I'm a tinkerer. For me, it was simply a matter of becoming bored with BB. There's only so much customizing and tinkering you can do. I like Apps too and was less than impressed with the Apps I found for my BB. I can't believe how much better Facebook works on my Samsung Fascinate than on my BB. It also is more functional. Also, I was overwhelmed (in a good way) with all of the Apps available for the Droid.

Hardware. Much better, faster, and more modern. Very happy with the hardware in my Droid phone.

I do miss some of the customization on my Storm2. For example, setting custom text sounds for contacts. Believe it or not, I kinda miss the keyboard from my Storm 2. I didn't realize how used to Surepress I was. In fact, this is my only complaint with the Droid so far. I DO NOT like the keyboard. I hardly made any typos with the Storm 2. I make a ton with the Fascinate. I also hate how the Fascinate (Droid) will change "we" to "were" and stuff like that automatically. In fact, if anybody has any tips for typing or how to fix this keyboard, I would be in heaven!

All in all, very happy and pleased with my transition from BB to Droid!

Had the Droid 2 for about two weeks on Fascinate release day. Before that I had had 6 Droids. I had had enough with Craporola.

I've been a Blackberry user since the 7130. Most recently I had a Storm 2 that I affectionately referred to as my "FailPhone". There were few things it did well aside from email.

When Blackberry announced that OS6 and Webkit would not be coming to the Storm 2, I decided to give Android a try via the Fascinate.

Mixed feelings so far but the phone is really starting to grow on me. The "stops checking POP email for no reason" issue almost sent it back to VZW within the first couple of days (good email performance is very important to me), but then I switched to K-9 Mail and it took care of that issue for me, nicely. I like it better than the Blackberry.

Google Maps, Google Voice Search, and web browsing are SO MUCH FASTER and BETTER than Blackberry. It is unbelievable how much faster and better.

Battery life is much worse though. I think I just discovered why, too. My FailPhone would go to sleep when holstered thanks to the Blackberry sleep magnet, but tonight I discovered that the Fascinate does not sleep when holstered. I had cranked up the screen timeout to keep the screen from sleeping and locking while I was doing things, and it turns out that it was staying on in the holster for the full timeout duration. We'll see how it does now.

Switched from the no-longer-free company phone. Spend the better part of the last 5 hours reading, learning, and making up for lost time tweaking. (Not having any kind of "smart" phone for the last couple years.)

So far it has been great. Thanks to many of the contributers on this site.

;)

I switched from a Blackberry bold. Main reason I changed over what internet viewing and third party appplications.

Much better on android! :)

Oh yeah. My dad has a Storm I and I can't believe he puts up with the web on that thing. So slow and crappy.

Razor from ~2005. Upgrade much?:p

Only had 4 my entire life: the ole Brick, mid-90s Moto 'flip' phone, Razor, Fascinate.

Coming from VzW Touch Pro 2, running Windows Mobile 6.5, was devoted to MightyROM the entire time that I had the phone (about 11 months). MightyROM made the phone as good as it could be... but nothing close to what the Fascinate will be.

Pros for the Fascinate : Better/bigger/brighter Screen.. Capacitive touch, slim size, OFFICIAL SWYPE! (I had hacked Swype on TP2 and loved it .. yet it's even much better on fascinate), Android (duh), processor...

The only thing that I've still evaluating (and attempting to tweak to my advantage) is the Battery life... if I can get that where I want/need it to be, then I'll have a perfect phone (for at least a few months, until something better is out).

Comming from a BB Storm, no comparison. Faster, more memory, more apps, bigger better screen. I still use the Storm, as a bedside alarm clock.:p

Coming from BB Tour. Couldn't handle the crappy browser.. But bb users gotta admit, the messaging/push services will be slightly missed

Finally getting rid of my BB Curve 8830. This thing is slow as a dog, and equally as useless.

I can't wait for my Fascinate to get here.

Dumped my iPhone 3Gs after almost 3 years of iPhone exclusivity. I grew tired of being so dependent on a pc for basic things such as music and pictures. Whatever Fascinates short comings are, anything beats being hogtied to a pc.

Coming from a blackberry tour, not to a fascinate (sorry wrong forum) but just wanted to throw in my opinion on android.

I was previously a winmo user then bb for 2 yrs now android bc of the droid pro's "blackberry-hijacked" keyboard.

I miss the blackberry for its simplicity and bbm. However, its browser was ancient. Using dolphin on the droid is amazing and right now im using tapatalk to post on forums (awesome!).

Hopefully once I adapt to it, the droid becomes second nature as the blackberry did.

Sorry for the length im trying to break in the keyboard, its a little stiff compared to the blackberry's ;)

Coming from a lost iphone 3gs. I miss tons of the little, intuitive things from iOS, but Android is almost exactly what I want in a phone: full-control of my device

Switched from BB Storm 2

It cost me a little extra to get the Fascinate, but it has been worth every penny. BB needs to wake up and build a touch screen phone that does not become outdated within 6 months if they ever want to see me purchase another one of their devices.

I moved from BlackBerry. Although those of you who were around here about a year ago might be wondering wtf I'm talking about. I moved from a BlackBerry to a Droid in 2009, but my deployment overseas basically forced me to go back to BlackBerry for the time being. But I'm back on Android now, and hope it stays that way this time :D
