Which phone are you upgrading to (if you are)?

I'm honestly convinced now that the Optimus V is the best phone Virgin Mobile has to offer right now, in terms of hacking.
The community, the price, the things this phone has the potential to do, the smoothed out ROMs, I love it.
It's a good phone for those reasons, face it, even if you broke it twice, it's still cheaper than an Evo V, but I tell you what, I MUCH prefer the Evo V. LOL

Quite hackable and community is building around it very fast as well.

If the One V is 200$, then certainly that. It's a sleek device with the perfect screen size. If not, I'll get the Evo V if I stay with Virgin. If I leave, then I'll be getting an unlocked GSM Galaxy Nexus and go to T-Mobile. Hell, I might even keep my Optimus V. Going on 2 years with it.

I agree. I may go along that route with Tmo when they get the 1900mhz up and running and try a Sensation XL but a Nexus device is the best option.

I recently found out that Sprint will be abandoning their wimax network in 2014 or 2015 and will be switching to lte. I also read that wimax phones will not work with the lte network virtually making the brand new evo 3d on Virgin useless in only 2-3 years since no more wimax towers will be built. If this is the case then why in the hell would Virgin Mobile release the wimax version and not the evo 4g lte? I was thinking of upgrading to the evo next year but now this news kinda has me stunned. I wonder if, when lte comes out will virgin up the plan prices again another 10 dollars so people can get on the lte network since all the current "4g wimax" hansets will be useless?

Most people will have upgraded by then. Plus, the evo lte is very pricey.

You think they will?

not worth the gamble that they wont. not speaking for anyone but myself,i do not jump on the latest release (or in vm's case re-re-release//rebranding) bandwagon every time a "new" phone is announced. im not buying any device that only will be useful to me up to two years. try hard as they may, they won't get that type of purchase rotation out of me. and wimax stinks in my area anyway. pure garbage network here. dialup is better at times. they can keep it. im hawking the elite at the moment. most likely my next buy.

I'm not worried about it. If you don't get 4g now, you won't until we get Lte.

That will probably not happen for almost two years. By then I will have had this for nearly two years and be ready for an upgrade. I would say I respect anyone who could keep an OV for three to for years, but really I would have to feel sorry for them.

I guess there's always the i phone, right? You won't have to worry about the whole 4g thing and the plan is also cheaper. And i bet it will be much cheaper in a year or virgin will run some sales on it before then.

Apple doesn't really do sales, or subsidize.
Any sale VM offers on it, will come out of their own pocket.

Any news on the One V? I've decided to get that instead of the Evo. It has a smaller screen, which I like. It's sleek, and it has sense 4.0. There's already a kernel for the unlocked version of it that can OC to 2.1 ghz, which means the 1ghz processor won't be a problem for me.

1ghz processor is plenty fast in stock form. About the only thing it can't handle is GTA 3.

I dislike the shape, but the rest is pretty good. Anyhow, I would expect them to show up any time now.

That's what I like about it actually. It reminds me of the HTC G1 or the HTC Legend. I dig the chin.

I'm waiting on the Droid Fighter or whatever they are going to call it!

My first post....lol

The Elite is actually clocked at 1 gig, has almost 3 gigs of available user memory, NFC, and comes with very little bloat. Add to this the fact that they already have root and are hard at work on a CWM based recovery, and I'm on way to Bestbuy.
