Currently on VZW. Contract ends 11/23/14. Currently have two Moto Razr M's to upgrade.

If I stay with VZW, I'm thinking HTC Remix for the wife and for myself I am stuck between Galaxy S5, LG G3 and HTC One M8.... leaning towards GS5 but not sure. Then there's the new Moto X. I kind of prefer stock Android though.....

I could also save money and get the LG G2 as well.

For prepaid options I was thinking maybe two Moto G's and going with Cricket or Brightspot Mobile. I'd give up LTE but save a whole lot of cash.

Phones will each have their pros and cons. I don't know much about the GS5 other than I can't stand the green tinted Super AMOLED screens they (and other phones) use. The M8 is very snappy and all around powerhouse, but many complain about the low camera resolution. This was my choice because when thinking about my camera use, I don't really print much to need a large resolution and the low light abilities compensate for me. If you plan to zoom a lot, or make large prints, then the M8 may not be for you. The G3 touts the large resolution display, but I don't think it has enough power to truly back it up. The other hardware specs on it are about the same as the M8, only more resources will be used to drive the display.

There are other pros and cons with those three phones, it's just those are the biggest concerns for my personal tastes.

What, specifically, do you want from you phone? It is difficult to choose a phone for someone that has not specified their requirements.

Since you are on Verizon, the obvious choice is to get the Droid 5.2" phone that will be coming out soon. It's supposed to have good battery life and a 21MP camera and all the good stuff with come with Motorola devices.

Then there's the new Moto X. I kind of prefer stock Android though.....
The Moto X and Moto G are as close to stock Android as you can get without going Nexus, even if you don't want the Moto X features, which would be strange, you can just disable them. Every other phones you mention are very far from stock Android.

I love my G3 and haven't really had any complaints. My wife got the S5 and the display is pretty impressive, but as mentioned the color white does have a tint to it. The camera is good but I do believe the G3's is better. I probably would've gone with the HTC M8 but the camera was a deal breaker for me.
The Note 4 is just coming out and looks to be a better version of the S5,if you like the bigger size.
As mentioned the Droid Turbo should be announced soon for Verizon and looks to be great.
Also Sony just announced the Z3 for Verizon, and it looks like a great phone too.
Lots of choices

Moto X is the best ,pal. But Droid Turbo should be awesome too especially because you are on Verizon.....but it's got a lot of bloatware on it.
