Which ROM are you guys using?

For anyone too lazy or stupid to read this is not an Incredible ROM it's for the Droid!!!
Ultimate Droid - Where your phone..becomes an addiction! - Home

But I've heard bad things about that guy. For instance he takes ROMS from other people, places his skin over them and renames them. It's actually not a different ROM. Also there are claims that he just stole a bunch of stuff from Cyanogen Mod etc etc.

NOW I don't know if any of that is true, but there has been a lot of talk on other forums about that guy. And personally if he can't post his work on XDA that tells you a lot about him. Think I'll stick with the more popular ones.

No doubt about it that all you just said is very true. If you take a UD ROM and delete the boot image. Take a guess what shows up? That's right Cyanogen Mod, hhhmmmm........ He is not a good person what so ever in the Android community and I do not get why people still follow him. IF I WAS YOU GUYS DEF STAY AWAY FROM HIM!!!! Stick with Cyanogen Mod they are great.

Very true all he does is steal work and not give credit where credit is due

Cyanogen Mod is the best and one of the only Roms I will flash :D

Exactly.....which, besides not being for the Incredible, I decided to flash Jager 1.6.2 this morning. Must say I am hugely impressed with the quality. Still has a bit of sense in it, but about 80% or so of the hogs are gone and my phone is running much faster. Love launcherpro as well. Now if CyanogenMod would get the flaws worked out I would go to it.

I'm waiting for a stable CyanogenMod :)

is anyone able to remove app's using root explorer?

You can't remove apps with root explorer from my understanding. The reason was because the NAND is only unlocked long enough on the Incredible to flash the custom recovery(clockworkmod).

You can do it though in recovery mode mount your system partition and use:

adb shell /system/bin/rm /system/app/"nameofapphere".*

The .* is a wildcard entry and will delete apks and any other extension matching that name. Worked pretty well for me! Or you could just flash the Jager 1.6.2 ROM and all the extra crap is gone, backup everything with titanium backup and restore it to CyanogenMod once a stable non-glitchy version shows up ;)

Yeah me either so far, and launcherpro is very very slick. Especially when I found out you could change how many screens you have and the whole scrolling bottom dock etc. Very nice.

Not to try and change the subject to much, looking at installing Jager but everything i've read its a pain to root. Are they still working on a easier way to root?

The team behind everything said they are looking still at expanding the race window (the timing of the sd card stuff). But I wouldn't expect it anytime soon, and a one button click root and recovery is a loooooonnnnnnggggg way off. Go get a $10 PNY card and within a few tries more than likely you will have it. There is a lot of information out there on it now.

is there any comparison chart/list/whatever of the 3 ROM's currently available that are listed in the first post?

Be careful using that script it does break things if you don't follow some of the things said in that thread. Don't just simply use the script unless you know what you are doing with it. Force closes aren't fun.

Anybody try the JagerRom Vanilla Update 1.7 that came out yesterday? I tried to load it last night but couldn't get past the setup screen. Google Apps force closed. I even tried to install google apps that I had zipped on the sd card already but couldn't get it to work.

Had to go back 1.6.2 but I really have no complaints about it.

Nah haven't tried it. I took Jager 1.6.2 off when I realized I couldn't put my phone into disk mode. It doesn't give you the option to change it and if you go into setting it still won't let you change it. So the inability to sync my music etc on it made me go back to the stock rom with removed apps.

I've tried CyanogonMod but it has to many bugs for me so I'll just wait for an update.

I just mounted my phone in Disk Drive mode. I'm running 1.6.2. Not sure what I might be doing differently.

He's saying he is running Jager 1.7. May give 1.7 a try and see if it treats me any better than 1.6.2 considering I couldn't mount it as a disk drive.

Oh I get it now. Signature. Wow I feel dumb. I just installed cyanogenmod Test3 "Stable" from RomManager.

Seems to be ok, the only thing I'm not liking is the camera is only showing 3 megapixels. But I'm wondering if it is really limiting the camera to 3 megas.
