So I just rooted my phone with Team Epic and was wondering what the best update I should flash. The latest one would be great. Also a video installation please. I'm not quite sure if having 4.1.1 rooted requires a certain rom that you can only use. Also when I rooted with Team Epic, did it also install the cwm recovery or do I also need to do that?

Hello

Well once your rooted you should be able to flash any of the latest and greatest ROMs out there. Naturally read and follow all the developers instructions to make sure you do everything correctly. Nothing worse than rushing in and missing a step and causing a huge/potentially dangerous problem.

As far as you having a custom recovery, normally during the rooting process especially when using a toolkit/app to root it will install a custom recovery like ClockWorkMod or TRWP.

To verify if you have a recovery installed power down your device completely. Once it is off, press and hold Volume Up/Home Key/Power Button together for a couple of seconds and you should boot into either CWM/TWRP recovery which will be obvious or the stock Android recovery which will be black screen with blue print normally.

Yeah I had to figure everything else out myself. Got Liquid Smooth 4.2.2 installed. Team Epic didn't have my install the clockmod so i had to do that afterwards. Weird? But everything is running perfect! What if I want to check out a different rom? Would I go about back to the clockmod and factory reset it and install the rom all over again like i did liquid?

Fist off, create a backup of your ROM. That will save a lot of headaches in case something goes wrong. Most ROMs install via an SD card, so if that is the way liquid did theirs, then yes it's the same.
You should always wipe cache, factory reset, and wipe dalvik (go to advanced>wipe dalvik cache) every time you flash a new ROM. Reason for that is many times the old cache gets in the way of the new ROM. This also applies to stock updates, although for stock updates, just wiping cache usually is sufficient.
