Which should I buy? G920i or G920F?

hello, I am selling my Verizon Galaxy S6 tomorrow because the camera has a purple dot in it, the battery is horrible and not getting updates and dealing with Verizon's bloat ware is a nightmare.

So I am ordering a factory unlocked one from eBay, I just don't know which one to get. I am a USA T-Mobile User (Unlimited 4G prepaid, used 145gb last month)

Which one would be best for me?

(Also, should I get the edge? or the normal one again?)

Personally, I do not believe that the downsides of the edge balance out the benefit. If you must have the capability to use an edge display, then you are probably in the minority. Most get it for the cool factor. Downsides include;

  • Propensity for the heat generated by rapid charging to ruin the accelerometer chip
  • Limited number of cases available due to difficulty in protecting it while leaving the edge display accessible and visible
  • Additional cost
  • More complicated to repair, so more likely it would be "totaled" by a relatively minor issue
  • Reportedly higher failure rate than the vanilla S6

The S6 Active looks much more practical. It has a tougher case, is waterproof, and has a larger battery. It is only available on AT&T for now though. If you don't actually require the edge display, the vanilla S6 is your best bet.

I got the SM-G920i last month, and besides that it came with a CSC (Region) that seems to never updates, Australia, updates in general seems to be a lot faster on the official international version, SM-G920f, so if you are moving from your current variant and one of the reason you mention is updates, definitely gets the F.

One thing, once you get it, and even before you set it, just look in Sammobile or XDA forums, latest France From, seems to be the first one updating, at least the last 2 updates have come first there. Just flash that Rom, be sure that is for the same model, and then do a factory reset on the Recovery Menu, this will officially change your region to France, so all future OTA updates will come directly to your phone?

One more thing, I was selling my SM-G920i for more than 2 weeks and there was zero interest on it, plus the prices have gone down considerably, finally I sold it on Friday, but it seems that in general, the SM,-G920f are easier also for resale.

I hope you will be honest and tell the buyer why you are selling it. Knowingly selling something defective without disclosing it could open a can of worms.

I have the 920I myself. It is true that the 920F versions got their 5.1.1 updates sooner. My phone's region was Panama. It got the update a few weeks ago.

I hope you realize that you will not be able to use wifi calling if you're buying an unlocked phone. So if you are intending to use wifi calling, then buy it from T-Mobile.

I put it on the ad, and that its under Samsung warranty (I called prior to make sure, they said I could send it in and have it fixed free of charge)

As for the battery, I heard updates fix it some what. that's why I want a FACTORY unlocked one instead of a Verizon unlocked one, I still gotta wait for VZ to update it and I won't root it so....

Good for you. Honesty is always best. Yeah, a clean phone is one way to avoid those unwanted apps
