Which SMS app is everyone using?

When I first got my gear 3 I didn't think Textra worked with it I always used the stock. But now I'm kind of wanting to go back to textra just so I can have separate tones for people. I have the Galaxy watch now so if I can use Textra with it I think I'm going to give it a try again. I mostly use Facebook messenger but there's a few people that don't have it that I text.

I have no problem with Textra and my Gear S3.

I use Samsung Messages on my Note 9 and AA seems to work just fine for me. I'm able to send/receive messages through AA.

It only takes a minute to switch from one message app to another as default. The best test would be switch over and give it a try. If it's not to your liking, switch back.

And it works on AA...thanks!

I'm using Samsung messaging since RCS works with it when texting other tmobile Samsung users, that use samsung messaging.

Doesn't have to be Samsung users, there are other phones that tmobile has that support RCS, OnePlus for instance.

What I'm saying is that for me to RCS with my mrs on tmobile , two conditions need to be met. One, we both own tmobile devices and two we both use the stock Samsung messaging app.

Samsung messages seems to work fine for me. The emojis are great, the GIFS are great. Right now I like Samsung messages compared to Android messages..

What is the best messaging app to use to get high quality video/pictures from iphone users? Does android messages now support RCS or what about Facebook messenger when linked for sms

I'm still trying to find an app that doesn't use your actual number count for texting. Need a "free" text app that you can do pics, gifs, etc.
Grandfathered plan which is cheaper than new plans still so other half only gets 250 a month. He has Text+ but it completely stopped notifying him. Their CS is of 0 help.

I think the issue is that the ones that do it for free have to used by all your contacts that you want to that with. Most plans these days include unlimited texting.

The textplus app you get a "fake" number and anyone has been able to text him no problems. Until.......they did some update to their app and it went to crap. We did the calculations on plans now vs plan we currently have. We come out on the cheaper end. Which sucks but doesnt. It's like win/lose/win/lose

At&t also uses this and you will also get sent/read confirmations as well in your texts, so no ot doesn't have to be only tmobile users and no it doesn't have to be Samsung phones, just a phone that has that support.

So if I were to text you on my tmobile s10plus using Samsung messaging you'll see a typing indicator?

I always just use the built-in Samsung text message app. I don't want/need any fancy stuff for texting, and it handles group texting, MMS, etc. all just fine. The ONLY thing it does that I'm not a fan of is how if you send or receive a really long string of text, it hides anything after about 10 lines and adds a little "button" at the bottom of that particular message saying "view all". And when you hit that, it takes you to a new screen with ONLY that one text string on it.

That's annoying, but I can live with it ... and, I would be willing to bet that Samsung gets rid of that soon enough, or allows us an option to toggle that 'feature' on and off.

I use the lifetime subscription to Pulse Sms. I tried Android Messenger so I could use text in the web and it crashed all the time. Pulse is more stable and has some neat functionality, such as message scheduling.
I'm using Android messages currently but I do like stock as well.

I just use stock. It does everything that I need to do
Sends texts and pics just fine. I don't need the bells and whistles with other text messaging apps.

So besides being able to do text via your computer does it pretty much have the same functions as Textra like tones for certain people. I use the stock now and have Textra on my phone and used to use it. I also have the Galaxy watch which I don't know if Pulse would work. Every so often I'll be sending a picture with the stock and it doesn't send as quick as I want it too but that could just be signal problems in our house. We switched from Sprint to Verizon and it's been so much better though for the most part for me husband still has problems and sent his phone back to Samsung today for repair.
