White Fade at the top of Home Screen

Anyone notice a slight white Fade at the top of their screen when using a black wallpaper? Seems to be only on the home screen like it's illuminating the top icons. If I view full black apps or pictures it goes away. I'll try to grab a pic of it when I can as it doesn't show in screen shots. I'm not really concerned about it just wondering if I'm the only one or not.

I use a black wallpaper and the only time I see it at the top is when I'm skipping songs.

Are you talking about the soli radar stuff? When you are in YouTube, YouTube music or other apps they show a white indicator at the top which means you can wave your hands to skip stuff. They will be active even if YouTube or YouTube music is playing in the background.

No it's just on the home screen. I'm about to grab a pic of it shortly.

It has to be the soli related white fade everyone else is seeing. Otherwise you dropped your phone on it's head :-$

See at the top how it's got a white fade. I even changed it to the straight black wallpaper that comes stock in the solid color wallpaper section.

Oh it actually does show up on a screenshot.

Also, this does not show up on the lockscreen or in and app or picture. Just when on the home screen. So I don't think it's soli but just some default gradient Google decided to apply. But I can't be the only one seeing this?

Damn ok. I guess I got a bonked screen. I'll be reaching out to Google tomorrow then. Sucks as I just put a skin on the back and now I'll have to buy a new one if they end up sending me a new device.

That sucks man, good luck and hopefully they send you a replacement quickly.

Word of warning, last year I had a faulty microphone when I received the 3 XL and I contacted them for exchange. They sent it fast but I lost the pre order $100 credit and it never came since for some reason their system treated that as a return even though it was no fault of mine. I didn't have much time to fight with them for it but it was bad on their part to screw me like that.

Yeah another few days left for the return period to expire, so that not might be a bad idea if you can tolerate the screen.

Yeah I could hold off a few more days. I could use my Note10+ as my primary if it starts to really bother me.

Is yours an XL model? Mine is the regular 4 which uses a different panel by LG. I wonder if any other regular 4 users are seeing this.

Yeah mine is the XL but I had the 4 as well and returned it just yesterday. I don't recall seeing anything like that on the smaller 4 as well and I generally use dark wallpapers. But yeah others who currently have the smaller 4 can chime in as well.
