Hi, is there a way to whitelist Spotify so it doesn't close automatically a moment after i pause the music. I actually searched and found that you have to add Spotify to the "Unmonitored apps" in "Device maintenance" (settings) but i did that (as you can see here https://imgur.com/a/GoYT7PK) and it still shuts down when i press "Optimize now". I also installed Tasker.apk but couldn't find how to disable Spotify auto closing. I'm asking this because my Spotify widget on the homescreen only works when the little notification (the circle with lines) is on the notification screen. Any workaround ? Thanks !!

When you press optimize now all background apps are closed regardless if they are on the unmonitored apps list.
But the apps on that list will not be stopped automatically by the operating system when they are running in the background using battery.

So i mean there is no way to let the spotify notification on the notification screen ? I'm asking this because my Spotify widget works if the notification is there. Thanks !!

There used to be a setting for apps that won't be put to sleep, but I can't seem to find it now. Sorry.

Device Battery then 3 dots Setting. Click on the field Sleeping apps. That is where we now list which apps to never let sleep.

Very odd.

Gayle, couldn't find this setting. I have a samsung galaxy s9 on android oreo. Thanks !

settings>device maintenance>battery>battery usage>3 dots>optimize battery usage

Although I'm pretty sure even if it's there, the device optimization button will still kill it.

Are you using the spotify widget or some other widget with spotify access?
