Whitestone Dome Glass $32 (2 pack)

Try a little moisture on your fingertip. Only way I can get mine to work most of tge time.

Wet my fingers?? I don't love WSD that much that I'm willing to treat my phone like a bag in the produce section of my grocery store, and call me petty but I refuse to be standing next to an iPhone user stabbing at my phone begging it to unlock while they smugly unlock there's without issue lol. What I did do is replace the WSD with the Spigen Neoflex (NOT AN AD) and my fps response improved by a factor of 10. It unlocks 1st time every time at the slightest touch now. 2 things I noticed with the WSD 1st I didn't particularly care for the edges on the sides. Perhaps if they were beveled or rounded it would have felt better. 2nd I noticed before i removed the WSD I was getting some lift on one of the sides. This would imply that perhaps I didn't get full coverage with the adhesive which may have impacted the fps performance. I still have the 2nd WSD maybe in time I'll try it again but I have to admit I'm diggin the feel of the phone without it. And given I'm coming from a Note 10+ and I have to adjust to a phone that doesn't lay relatively flat caseless that's the struggle I choose to deal with for now.

thank God I bought a 2 pack! my first install had air bubbles and didn't seal on the bottom edges. 2nd install was perfect!

Seems like the glue holder should be at the center of the phone instead of near the top?

So, I put my Whitestone Dome screen protector on today after it was finally delivered. I have used them on my last two Galaxy phones with horrible results. The FPS never worked well at all unless I wet my finger first which was obviously not ideal.

I had an almost flawless install. The only issue was along the left edge there seemed to not be adhesive all the way to the edge. It was almost unnoticeable but it bothered me, so I took a piece of paper and dipped it in some extra adhesive that I had left over from another phone and slid it along the edge and cured it and now it is absolutely perfect.

And I am happy (and quite surprised, to say the least) that my FPS is working flawlessly every single time and it is as quick as it was without the protector. I am shocked this is actually working. I didn't have to do the same fingers twice, I have four separate fingers loaded, and it is working! I cannot stand it when the FPS doesn't work since I use that for everything, including Samsung Pay, and I couldn't be happier.

Well, I guess I should update my raving review as I ended up having to remove it from my phone like I always do. It worked for awhile and then it went back to the WSD behavior that I've had in the past and the FPS would almost never work unless I wet my thumb first, which I am not willing to do. What a shame, I am not ever trying this again, wasted too much money.

For those have been using Whitestone for a while, do you feel like the quality of their protector's has gone down? I've used these for as long as I remember and I feel like the last few version's I've put on various phones crack so easily, more like chipping on the edges. I recently had to pull the WSD off an S8 Plus and it didn't even crack and came off in 1 solid piece. The old one is noticeably thicker than current ones.

I know they come with the 10$ warranty replacement but I feel like I am paying this way too often. I am starting to wonder if there are better options out there...

Yes, the glass is way thinner and cheaper than past versions and the fingerprint scanner only works with wet or greasy fingers.

I just ordered the AmFilm glass and will give them a try later in the week.

It's odd, my phone has been great yesterday and today with the WSD. It's like the installation "settled in". I'm very pleased. FPR is working fine, no licking needed.

I'm trying this new glass screen protector from Amazon. So far it's been working great and the fingerprint sensor is also working great. I would say a very slight milli second slower to unlock than without protector, but accuracy has been very good. Also I like that it doesn't have the cutout/notch around the selfie camera that the whitestone dome has. This has a seamless look and extends far enough to the bottom edge that you don't feel the edge when using gesture control at the bottom.

So weird thing happened to the Whitestone Dome Glass that I installed 3.5 weeks ago. I worked in some cold weather this weekend, low of 34 degrees. I noticed last night what I thought was just some oil from my fungers on the lower part of the phone where I use the keyboard. Went to wipe it down like I've done with all of the Whitestone protectors I've had since the S9+, but it didn't come off.

It's like the are permanently there. Has anyone else ever experienced this? If so was it temperature related? Looking for input.

Interesting. If the WSD, I have on order does not work, might give it a try.

I did notice on the page this added info:

Q: How to make the fingerprint reader works better?

A: 1. Add 2-3 coins to the weight and place the weight right on the fingerprint reader

Can't help, just have to be a smart a**...34 is cold? I walk the dogs commonly temps 54 degrees lower; and heading out in a few minutes and it is like a heat wave...20 degrees.

I never had a whitestone dome before. So far it's been the best screen protector I've ever had on a phone. Everything still works like the first day I've installed it, even after putting my phone into countless cases.

I even have a spare package that I feel confidence in selling because I won't need it.

Ha around here 34 degrees is coldish, yes. The low temperatures the phone was in this weekend is the only thing I can think of that may have affected the glue under the screen?

If the glue is affected by 34 degrees, I guess if I install it and it lasts till next January, I'll get to find out how it is affected a -15 to -20.

The definitely crack easier and they appear to be thinner. I also used to be able to remove them easily without cracking it, but the last two times they cracked in the process even with me doing it gingerly.

Also the warrantee replacement is absurd because they then charge you l like $10 or $20 for shipping (I forget). I think my replacement was free though but I still ended up paying so much for shipping/handling when I asked for warrantee replacement over a year ago.

BUT, I must say I am not having the same FPS problems that others are experiencing. It's as fast and accurate as day one. In the past I would have issues, but with the S22U, I haven't had any degradation yet. However, it's only been a week or two right? I often just place my thumb on the AOD screen and boom I'm in. I dont' have to wet any fingers. I think the phones are really finicky with people's prints.

Ya, the shipping kills you. I'd rather pay a little more and have a protector that lasts than have to reinstall all the time. I pay $10 and I have already requested 2 replacements since having the S22U. I guess it's better than nothing but wish they would make them like they used to.

I am the same on the FPS, works great for me unless my finger is super dry.

Has anyone noticed that the oleophobic coating on the Whitestone Dome screen protectors for the S22 series isn't as strong as previous generations?

With the first one I applied I chalked it up to something I did with the way it was wiped down. Just installed another one this past Thursday, and it is showing clowded areas where either my face or pillow touched it. Granted you can only see this clouding in just the right light, but it still bothers my OCD.

You sure this "Clouding" is not on the glue side of the glass?
