Whitestone Dome on Note 9

The problem with these is that dust gets trapped under/along the sides and the adhesive will start to ball up on the sides\edges.

Not with the Whitestone and its all over adhesive. I had mine already to put on the moment I received my Note 9. If you check out the YouTube videos, the consensus is pretty clear. Whitestone is the one to get. I used ones for my S8+ and Note8, so I was an old hand at the installation.

I had the Whitestone on S8, S8+, and Note 8. Dust eventually collects on the sides and eventually causes you to wipe it and the adhesive balls up.

Cool can you come fit mine for me then ? Lol.

I'm in the UK. ;)

This sounds like you didn’t clean up all of the excessive adhesive from the sides after the initial UV application and removing the phone from the bracket. If you have adhesive oozing out from the sides it sounds like maybe that the table was not level and more went in one direction? You’re supposed to wipe off the excess before the final curing process.

That's not what I am talking about, but I don't care to debate it any longer. For my situation, not using a case and going caseless with a pouch, the whitestone eventually developed bubbles on all 3 devices and if you wipe too much adhesive away during install you end up with bubbles and halos. All of the installs I did ended up perfect at the time but the. Developed what I described above.

I know exactly what you're talking about. Happened with my Note 8 and Pixel 2 XL.

Happened on one side with the first one I installed on my S9+. The second one didn't have that issue. Despite their best efforts to come up with an install kit that is supposed to be consistent, it's not as it doesn't really control outside variables (level being the biggest factor). It's not bad given the price though.

This ^

I'd rather have a screen protector on to help guard against scratches and drops than have to potentially pay big bucks to replace the screen even if it means periodically changing the protector.

Got my Note 9 today and installed the Whitestone dome, perfect install and very happy how it looks/feels. Had experience putting on S9+ (screwed up first time) and so had watched lot of install videos so knew how to do it correctly this time

I installed the whitestone dome screen protector yesterday, for the first time ever, on a friend's Note 9.
All went well, but I think I spotted a couple tiny air bubbles close to the middle of the screen.
My friend didn't notice them and was very happy with the end result.

I bought one and installed it on my note 9. Also have a case installed. Very next it fell off a short chair 1 1/2' high and I suppose it hit the metal leg and shattered the corner of the protector. Emailed them and he's gave me free shipping which is what you usually pay on their warranty since it was only a day.
Kinda disappointed that it broke so easily but it did its job! Should have the protector in a few days but I haven't looked into how to remove the old one and remove the "glue" yet.

How easy is it to get the adhesive off. Just thinking ahead for Note 10 trade in.

No problem removing it after it's been on - you probably won't even see any residue. The mess is when you install it and you don't have it just right. Complete fubar.

From having removed one, the back of the protector adheres much better to the adhesive than the phone's screen. So when you pull it off, the adhesive comes off the screen pretty clean.

Really not a fan of dumping adhesive on the phone. I've never seen this system before, I have a cheap garbage glass protector on mine right now so I was looking at alternatives. I also don't like the top part being cutaway, that's not what I call (full coverage). I want every bit of the screen covered, save for the speaker.

It's not exactly what you think. The adhesive is a really thin liquid that is actually repelled by the phone screen, which is why you want it to be perfectly level so it sits in one place as a blob. Once the screen protector drops onto the phone using the provided tooling, the liquid spreads between the protector and the phone glad right up the the edges. Then you cure it using the provided UV light. It's not really a traditional glue. The curing process turns the liquid into a solid gel-like substance (feels like dried silicone). It's a pretty strong bond, but more so because of the surface area rather than the adhesive itself. Like I mentioned before, the adhesive pulls pretty clean from the phone glass. It's really struck on the back of the tempered glass though.

Honestly, I am less than impressed with the Whitestone Dome. I installed it and initially I had a couple tiny air bubbles towards the top of my screen but I could live with it. Now, a week or so after I installed it I am seeing two issues already with the glue under the glass. First, at the top near the speaker it looks like there is a line in the glue that has formed as if the glue was drying up and cracking. Second, on one corner it looks like the glue isn't sticking anymore and it is starting to come up. I followed the directions after watching the videos several times and everything seemed to go smooth initially, but I really don't think it's going to last long before I yank it off.

The caseology one causes major touch sensitivity issues. Almost unbearable.

We have 5 Note 9s in my family, all with the Caseology tempered glass screen protectors. No sensitivity issues at all. I suggest you increase the sensitivity in the settings.

My husband and I each installed Armor Edge glass screen protectors on his GS9 and my Note S9 yesterday. Can't tell the difference between naked and protected screens in terms of sensitivity, smoothness, or appearance. Got em at Best Buy. Not cheap but a lot less expensive than the Whitestone Dome, and the installation, both times was as smooth as silk, unlike the nightmare I had with the Dome.

With the Dome installation, I watched two videos. In fact, I watched Flossy's three, count 'em, 3 times. It took the installation, with all its parts and pieces, screwed up when the glass glued itself to the installation frame and I had to break the frame and break off the glass from the phone. (Yes, the phone was on a level surface. Yes, I had the parts set out beforehand. Yes, I have steady hands, yes, I made sure not to let the glue... Oh, never mind. I was lucky that I have fingernails and I was lucky that I didn't hurt my phone when I removed its protection. (That's sarcasm, sons and daughters.)

There is a simple, easy to handle, unfussy installation with the Armor Edge. There is a frame to align and apply the sticky underside of the protector to your phone - - no separate parts besides the most wipe and microfiber cloth to clean the phone screen first. Took 5 or 10 minutes to do two phones. And we were being careful and going slowly.

By the way, I bought my Dome from Amazon, and got a refund.
