Who bought the S22 Plus?

I bought the middle child of the series, the S22 plus 256gb in green.

Mainly because I have the S21 Ultra and wanted the flat screen and because I also bought the Tab S8. I will be selling the S21. I probably would have ordered the S22 if it had a bigger battery. Phone screens are just too small for consuming content and reading on a lot. I also can't remember the last time I took advantage of the extra features on the Ultra. I'm glad that there aren't too many compromises on the Plus.

Who else ordered one?

Normally I get the Plus too. I really like the iPhone type "sides" this time around. But this time I really wanted the S pen, if as a stylus if nothing else.

I usually prefer the plus over the ultra but I fear the extra width will make it less comfortable this year. The S22 plus is the same width as the Pixel 6 Pro, which is already a bit of a beast, it is lighter and shorter though.

Not seen it in the flesh of course but there is something a little FE ish about the design, will probably feel different if I pick one up.

The camera looks a real step up on the ultra this year again so there is an argument the S22 and plus are not really flagships anymore. Really wish that someone other than apple would make a proper flagship that isn't huge.

I'm pretty sure Flossy Carter said in his video the plus felt a lot like the iPhone 13 pro max. I had the iPhone 12 pro and loved the build and feel in hand. Having a flat screen was so nice. I just don't care for the boxy look of the Ultra. With curved edges on a phone, you lose some of the usable and viewable space because the curved edges are counted in the dimensions of the screen. I'm just over the curved edges. But that's just my personal preference. I'm glad Samsung is making a phone for everyone to enjoy.

Also I rarely took advantage of the extra features on my S21 Ultra. So I know I wouldn't use them on the S22 ultra. I never used pro mode in the camera or shot picture or video in raw. 100x zoom on a phone camera is cool but useless.

I really do not care about a zoom as long as I have a circa 3x zoom for portraits, 10x is a gimmick. I do though really care about the image quality on the main camera and from the early reading I have a feeling the main camera on the ultra is going to be a step up. Could be wrong.

I got the S22U in the first wave. I have never had a Note and thought the use of the stylus would be great. However, the size is very bulky and boxy and the weight is a bit heavier than the S20 I upgraded from. I keep the phone in a breast pocket of a suit and it just weighed it down. I am returning the S22U for the S22+ and it was a hassle to return it to Verizon, I got it just under the window for the 30 day return. However, the S22+ is on backorder and ships 4/8, so I am waiting and using the S22U until I can return it when the new phone arrives.
